Apparently this was the music Moby started playing before he got into electro....I like it, and it's based on the same roots as early Smashing Pumpkins...industrial stuff like KMFDM and Skinny Puppy and Tom Skold. If you like this, those might be up your alley.
If you prefer the newer, more ambient music, The Tear Garden is sort of a precursor to a lot of the stuff on Play.
this was from the album "Animal Rights" which was his second album and kind of an experiment for Moby. His first album "Everything is Wrong" was his first ambient/techno/rave thing and was big in that scene. Then he did this which was NOT received by his fans well at all. But was actually a very good album. then he did "Play" which was his big commercial and critical success which had no metal/rock/industrial stuff. He said "Animal Rights" was inspired by things like DANZIG!
