  • Thank you for posting this.

  • Wow, never a truer set of words. :o)

  • if we all gave up our personal history..yes, the world would have been different. Thanx for posting!

  • "you cannot find light by analysing the darkness" ...wrong, that's the only place you can find it.

  • Perhaps when he mentions the past he is talking about a bad past, but people have good pasts as well. You shouldn't forget the past, for if you do, you will learn nothing. When I was a boy I worked out hard in the gym and it always made me feel great. Now, at almost 40 I have gotten back to the gym and am revisiting those invigorating feelings that I once I had. I feel great again. I feel like I have gotten in touch with my true self. I am moving forward because of my past.

  • Giving up my personal history.

  • Thank you, I needed to hear that !!!

  • Your connection to your story is creating your reality. In order to change your reality you have to let go of the attachment to everything that is creating that reality. The universe can't provide you what you desire and deserve if you are attached to something else. So let go and surrender.

  • People stare at the boat's wake without knowing it all the time instead of focusing on where they are going now. People think they can't do something because their grades were bad in school, or they never got a degree, or they failed at something before so now they think they'll fail at everything, or they used to be awkward so now they don't feel attractive, or they grew up poor so they think they could never belong, etc. If that's you, look up. The rest of your life is ahead of you.

  • We are conditioned to keep looking back to see who we are. "Oh no I am ashamed about that" and "Oh dear what will people think". we base on identities on the past, what people have told us and how they react to us. truth is that our whole body except the brain cells are renewed every 7 years. so even than you physically are not in the same body! Meditate to: I exist, I am - then see who you are beyond form

  • Thank you very much for the advice!! Although sometimes it is hard not to look behind the boat , we always need to focus to look forward and finding new energy so we can make the boat moving

  • Very good advise

  • a very precious message, as we are accostumed to hear from you, thank you!

  • Just imagine the possibilities if just 10% of the people thought like this.Im always moved by his words of wisdom.

  • Great words, what a pitty the sound is so weak and bad

  • ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS !!

    nothing more, nothing less,

    thanks,

    MARIO

  • I keep getting the same advice it's scarey but thanks

  • Brilliant. I have listened to Louise Hay and AH for a while and just getting into Dyer's material now, although I know he's been around for a while. Always makes sense :)

  • Dr. Dyer is an incredible life coach if you will. He offers the philosophical along with a side of compassion and then shines a light of accountability in your face. I have been helped by is lectures in the last fifteen or sixteen years since I've been watching them.

  • I independantly came to the same conclusion about a week ago. Forgetting my personal history has done wonders for me. There's a magnificant amount of freedom in forgetting the decisions I've made in the past. I only AM in the present moment, and I can be anything I want to. I was afraid to sing my entire life because I told myself that I was bad at it. Now I sing as loud as I possibly can.

  • thank you very much

  • Love the boat analagy! :)

  • Very nice :)

  • Thank you! The way that was described made perfect sense! It was exactly what I needed to hear!

  • beautiful man

  • I moved from CO to AZ four months ago as a single parent. Now I am scared because my whole support system is in CO and I find myself wanting to move back. Is this moving backward and sabotaging what I could possibly be on my own?

  • @mcscavelli No. The brain loves what is familiar and you took a leap into the unknown which can bring up feelings of anxiety. That is normal for everyone. What do you want to be? and focus on that. You will become what you believe, so see yourself as successfull with nice, loving people around you and that's what will happen. "So a man thineth in his heart so he is" "Image creates desire. You will what you imagine"

  • very insightful. I love the metaphor with the boat and the wake

  • Nice! thank you.

  • thank you that was helpful

  • Thank you for sharing..this is so insightful.
