despite the voice acting that us in our HDMI, Lip Sync, Extreme Graphics and High Quality Audio way of life believe is in adequate, this is still one of the (if not the) best games ever made.

@CorRomeister to be fair, Deus Ex was one of the earliest videogames ever to include voice-acting and at the time big-name actors or voice actors were never part of videogames.

as voiced games became more frequent, the need to hire better actors became more prominent.

as it stands Deus Ex set the standards that many MANY more games would follow. But yes, while this game was AWESOME, it's voiceacting is definitly not it's best feature.

I actually really like the accents by the characters in Deus Ex. While funny, I feel it was done pretty good. Of course with the limitations of what could be done in terms of conversations, it's amazing Ion Storm pulled it off so well.

I don't even understand why they have Chinese characters speaking like this. It's a stereotype that only really applies to the Japanese. Most other Asian languages have a distinction between L and R. On top of that these characters are in Hong Kong, which has always been an international city. You'd think people like Chow would work to overcome any speech deficiencies.

Hell most Japanese don't even have accents anywhere near as bad as the stereotypes indicate. You can usually tell the difference between an L and an R in Japanese due to slight tonal differences. V and B are a much harder problem.
