It seems to have a DC-Motor? I wonder about the long time it takes to slow down from 1800 rpm compared with my W487 with AC-Motor and frequency control...
It's quieter since Jan 15th, the Míele engineer came to replace the inlet hose as a valve in the Waster Protection System (WPS) split, meaning we couldn't use the machine for 5 weeks.
The Míele sits in our garage with my Zanussi & Hotpoint, both the Míele & Zanussi're subject to inlet & outlet stoppages during the winter as the water in the pipe freezes...
The Míele engineer was pushing the Navi back in line with the Zanussi after he'd relevelled it after a couple of loads'd made the machine jump, Dad'd adjusted the inlet plumbing before the engineer came and as the Navi was being pushed back into place, the inlet collapsed sending a cannon of water spraying around the corner area where all three machines sit.
It certainly gave him a shock!
It's now as quiet as it should've been upon purchase, it only rattles with heavy loads in it.
My Navitronic sits in the garage which has an uneven floor, it only sounds like a jet plane when it passes around 1300RPM, so long as I remember to lean my knee or foot against the door it's reasonably quiet.
It's only loud when spinning & the door is stainless steel/metal.
I'd say all "Classic Design" models may be like my Navitronic, if moderately unlevelled, if fully stabilised they should be fine.
My Dad's going to re-level it soon, he's checking the WPS after a leak occurred.
Most of the time it's quiet, but when it's on the fast spin and is unbalanced, the door rattles like crazy.
Even though Dad ensured it was dead level/straight, it still jumps as it increases the spinning speed.
I visited the Míele Experience Centre recently and their Navitronic on display doesn't rattle like mine, but then again the showroom one doesn't have the same pump adio as mine gives.
