  • demolition ax in action

  • did he ever wrestle Mil Mascaras

  • I remember this eposode very well...11 years old at the time....don't laugh folks, my MOM..not dad, got me into Wrastling.

  • Superstar should have been a world champion

  • The great Bill Eadie one of the best in my mind!!!!!!!!

  • The greatest masked wrestler ever. Great in the ring and on the mic. Wrestlers today don't compare.

  • I remember an incident the week before when Superstar was interviewed and Greg Valentine and Bobby Duncum interrupted and Duncum started running down Blackjack Mulligan. Well Mulligan came out and he and Duncum started fighting. Valentine tried to get involved but Superstar wouldn't let him interfere. Is there tape of that one?

  • I've seen videos on Youtube of Masked Superstar Vs. Mr. Wrestling 2, but can't find any now. Anyone know of any? I would love to see clips of these two going at it again - would bring back some classic memories.

  • II LOVED THESE STUDIO ANGLES. IT WAS SIMPLE AND IT WORKED. NOW ITS A JOKE!

  • Superstar is just awesome talent. Promos and matches are flawless and I was and am still such a mark for Superstar.

  • Jimmy Snuka in the NWA. Not enough quality footage around.

  • Masked Superstar&The Destroyer would have been a great tag team!

  • Demolition Ax when he was younger. Wow!

  • @selimaazouri Someone call the WHAAAAAAMBULANCE for the mark.

  • @selimaazouri So it's still real to you, dammit?

  • I remember seeing him in the WWE and I wasn't really impressed with him. Seeing him in action in the Carolinas, Georgia and Canada however, he looked and acted like a legit badass. His cobra sleeper was as fearsome a move as anybody else's finisher.

  • He and the Spoiler was my favorites of the Masked guys. Also Mr. Wrestling II

  • Maybe Gene Anderson would be Shemp.

  • When I first caught Georgia Championship Wrestling on cable, I was in awe of this man. My favorite masked wrestler in the GCW area. Master of the cobra sleeper. THE SUPERSTAR!

  • Bill Eadie is his real name.

  • @Mrslammie

    that's Ax of Demolition?

  • @cashpresley Yes .Krusher Kruschev was Smash.

  • @cashpresley its ax all right,bill eadie

  • One of the greatest wrestlers of all time.Had the pleasure of seeing him live in at my high school when he wrestle in Mid Atlantic Champhionship Wrestling. He was tagging with Paul Jones at the time. What a match!!!!!!!!!

  • The MS was the package...strength, agility, and a master on the mic...it really sucks that he never got a World Title run. The WWE has no one to hold a candle to him, Race, The Horsemen, etc. The NWA judt couldn't package it right, what a shame...

  • Great stuff!

  • His best rival was the Mighty Igor. Got to love someone who shoves a lit cigar into someones eye.

  • anyone know who that guy was under the mask??

  • @Bilytkid He is Demolition Ax, Bill Eddie. I think I spelled his last name right. He still wrestles in the Carolinas and Georgia.

  • That's how you do a face turn! McMahon ought to pay attention. WWE sucks.

  • @litehouse6

WWE sucks so bad, they couldn't do a credible storyline even if their life depended on it. The bottom line is that Vince doesn't want to.

So sad. The present day fans are missing a lot.

  • Masked Superstar is one of the greatest masked wrestler of alltime! Thanks for posting this classic!

  • Great memories...I saw this when it was first broadcast - took me by surprise. The NWA/Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling freaking ruled.

  • ONE OF THE GREATEST MASKED WRESTLERS AND SO UNDERRATED

  • I just love Mid Atlantic Wrestling. I miss how during the middle of the show, they would show clips of a match that happened earlier in the week or the week before.

  • @jive5willie

they did stuff like this on wwf tv too.

  • @jive5willie I miss studio wrestling in general.

  • I just met, interviewed and spent the day with The Masked Superstar yesterday (june 11th, 2010). He was my favorite wrestler of all! Bill is such a kind, soft-spoken man, but he's still pretty imposing in person. They just don't make them like Bill, Blackjack and Mr. Wrestling II anymore. Those were truly the golden years of wrestling.

  • How does Bob Caudle see him turn red if hes got a mask on lol ? This is just great.

  • @mrpogo72 The eye holes are pretty big in the mask. lol

  • masked superstar..sweeet baby

  • The TV Studio, the Wrestling Announcer, The Managers, the Heels vs the Faces.....this style of Wrestling still is better than anything that the WWE and TNA have to offer. Why isn't wrestling like this anymore? How I miss the old Territorial days!!!

  • Can someone please find the match when The Superstar teamed with Sweet Ebony Diamond and won those belts from Snuka and Stevens...

  • @Beyondlife7 It was not Sweet Ebony Diamond. It was Paul Jones that was his partner.

  • I remember when the Masked Superstar broke Blackjack Mulligan's claw hand.

  • Yeah the best bad guy of all time. The masked superstar. I loved it when he killed Backlund whith the swinging neck breaker.

  • the greatest wrestler ever THE MASKED SUPERSTAR!!!!

  • I always thought his name was one of the greatest names for a wrestler "The Masked Superstar" What a close lin

  • what year was this?

  • @mrhollister09 1980.

  • One of the best masked wrestlers. Great in the ring and also gave great promos.

  • "I guess I'm the World tag team champion." For some reason that line cracks me up.

  • @nwajoe

Well, he has the belts...so..... :D

  • Apparently you couldn't hold 2 national championships in the NWA/Crockett territory, but you could hold a regional championship AND a national one.

  • In Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling, there seemed to be something in the air that made singles champions surrender their titles to pursue the World's Tag Team Championship and by coincidence, 2 TV champions surrendered their titles to challenge for the Tag Belts. Those champions were Ricky Steamboat in 1979 and of course, the Masked Superstar in 1980. Purely by coincidence, both wrestlers won the championship almost instantly after giving the TV Title.

  • A face turn that didn't require him to change his character one bit! Hard to think of another heel who could compel respect and even admiration like the Masked Superstar. But oh, don't you dare cross him.

  • One of the great face turns of all time. Superstar had returned after a stint in Georgia with another masked Superstar, who turned out to be John Studd. He then had Enforcer Luciano with him for awhile, then Gene Anderson began courting his services. Funny that Superstar didn't mention Bobby Heenan, who managed him, Blackjack Lanza, and Killer Karl Kox in Georgia.

  • Demolition Ax(Bill Eadie)

  • @OrigLanceR

Yep, listen when he's shouting here, same voice he uses as Ax.

    Loved him. :)

  • I really liked the masked superstar also, he was my favorite masked wrestler along with the spoiler

  • The best masked wrestler IMO!

  • @samsdaddy0525

He was amazing as a heel. Hard to believe he turned face.

Love the terrible quality tv footage. Seriously. Awesome somepne has had this on vhs for 20-30 years.
