This just happened to me too three days ago. 2010 Mustang GT Premium. I couldn't control any of the added stuff that popped up on the screen. It eventually went back to its normal display after I pressed a few climate control buttons.
Oh no... My '10 is also A GT Deluxe I hope it doesn't glitch out on me :I It hasn't yet... I am keeping my fingers crossed I don't want to have to put it back stock so the dealer won't try to void my powertrain warrantee.
@emin818 turning the car off and back on usually resets and fixes the issue. Do you have the premium package. the compass could be part of that option.
That happens if the window defroster and power button are pushed at the same time.. Happens to my moms 2010 mustang.

Happened to me today man. But mine doesn't display the S on the bottom at all. How can i get my compass to work? Does it even have one?
