  • It's nice when you find someone on YouTube who actually sounds good when they play something. :) I agree with charlessndanville: If Rush ever needs a backup...they should totally call you!!

  • I wouls like to marry your drums, may I have your blessing?

  • @OfficialCRUSHJJG Nope. ;)

  • Unreal Dude!!!!!! Giffted for sure

  • ~ ANOTHER GREAT COVER ~

  • Well if Neil Peart ever get's sick and unable to perform at a concert, you would make a prime candidate to fill that position! Professional Artists do watch You Tube occasionally, just like Journey's new front man got discovered! I love watching you play. I was a Professional drummer once until carpel tunnel affected both wrists. Maybe you can sit in at a concert one day, miracles do happen you know!

  • Great job! A pleasure to listen too.

  • You're definately the best in Rush drumming videos on youtube.

You have the drum and cymbal sounds perfect.

  • that was amazing!

  • superb mate - followed rush for many years and this is near spot on !!!!

  • Amazing! I am 43 years old, I built a drum room in our brand new house, *(my wife is less then happy, fuck her) Rush and neil Peart and drums got me through so much shit. Now I have a drum room, I do not go in, a 12K drum set, I do not play, yet, do not start yelling, I own that room. It is my life dream, since I started playing drums at 10 years old. This guy playing in this video, made me figure out that, Neil peart is a god. Guy playing drums in video, just know. you will now, cut off.

  • its great!!!!! bravo!!

  • I don't care what style of music you are into...that drum part at the end of that song is got to be one of the greatest of all time ....nice job...

  • yes Yes yES yeS Wow

  • this is great watching you. i'm so glad i saw this.

  • @Astrotama WHO ARE YOU!!! Keep It Up! Post Something WithYour Electronics... Like The 2003 Version of The Trees!

  • Wow!! I'm no drummer, but I can appreciate the awesomeness of all your videos. Geddy and Alex should keep your number handy in case Neil ever gets sick on tour. Keep 'em coming!!

  • Outstanding...Rock on my man!!

  • Wow! Sounds great. I'm a big RUSH fan and you definately do them justice pal. Awesome job!

  • drummer to drummer......chops bro. im glad u can do it!! im watchin all you vids now, im all about rush and looks like you need an iron cobra...wait! no ur doin triplets like i used to. heel ball toe. keep old goin bro!!! proud of u!!!!!

  • You all the technique perfect, all you need is the studio quality micing and this video would be a huge hit!

  • Sick drum set up

  • That was one of the best covers i herd yet, OUSTANDING job man, WTG!!!

  • Damn. I'm a guitarist, but every once and a while I like to watch a few drum covers. I may not know much about drumming, but this sounded pretty damn good. Props to you my friend!

  • well done.

  • Fantastic !!

  • nice. I liked the outro.

  • that was MASSIVE! Amazing work dude!

  • are u in a band?

  • Hey that was amazing, Im a drummer myself and I was wondering, have you ever used trx cymbals? I wanted to get some but I wanted some reviews first.

  • @TheFourthStooge98 Thank you. No, unfortunately, I have never used those cymbals. I've tried and stillown many different cymbals from many different companies but never tried trx. Sorry!

  • @TheFourthStooge98 Trx is really good, I would recommend them, I for instance don't own any but I have played on many sets that had a trx cymbal set up and I absolutely loved them! Their quality is rather phenomenal!

  • @TheFourthStooge98 Trx is really good, I would recommend them, I for instance don't own any but I have played on many sets that had a trx cymbal set up and I absolutely loved them! Their quality is rather

    phenomenal!

  • It kind of sounds like Neils kit

  • @drummer12371 well hes got the same cymbal setup as Peart does (Sabian Paragons) and the same drum setup. Although its not DW, Neil used to use Tama drums as well!

  • you got a Facebook page, LOVE to look you up??

  • dude, from all the way "down under" here in SATX, you were SPOT ON! EH! have you seen his new Paragon Series that Sabian gave him, i managed to catch him on David Letterman-Drum Solo week, he had some wicked decorations bordering his edge of the cymbals... but definitely, you were SPOT ON covering that song, most blokes can't do it w/ease... take care brother of skins..., frankie in SATX

  • Awesome dude lomg liove the 80's

  • You my sir are a Bad Ass.

  • give yourself some credit. It takes alot of skill to play that song so well. Even in your first video. great job!

  • that was amazing dude!!

  • Absolutely Incredible Man! The kid sounds awesome!!! Those cymbals sound exactly like Neil's. What kind of cymbals are those?

  • @PFSweetDrummer All Sabian Paragon, a duplicate of Neil's set.

  • Great job man! Keep jammin bro!

  • you truly are a master of your craft

  • @boot2mouth Ah, no, not really. Neil is a master. I'm just an amateur having some fun! ;)

  • @Astrotama I normally dont make comments on such videos as there are too many people 'wastin time' however this was worthy enough for me to do it. I really appreciate watching people who are skilled at what they do and besides I like your comment and fully agree that Neil IS the master .. I wish I had more time to devote to drumming but always enjoy playing to my fave songs :)

  • fantastic job, wish i could drum like y !

  • good job! are you playing with bare feet ? Neil would say "Dancing shoes" ;-)

  • Hey Astrotama just visited your channel, that's about the bulk of it these days if you wanna become a drummer first become a astro chemist making astro money, rather then starting with a garage band. I would like to see you do some "Kill the king" Cozy Powell ... I would like to see how you fare with that. Cozy Powell is one of my favorite drummers

  • Unreal my friend!!! Great job. You sound fantastic!!! Neil would be proud man.

  • Good Job ! Just wonderin are you in a band and how old are you ?

  • @lamentfly Check under my channel.... answers are there... ;

  • Dude! You kick ass! I saw RUSH last night in Baltimore performing this song.

  • any chance you could send me a list of the kit?

  • @SIERRAHPBT If you go to the Facebook page (link under my channel), you will find a complete description of the kit.

  • you are so badass.. keep up the goo dwork. I cant tell the difference!

  • That was some badass drumming.. YOU kick so much ass!

  • I'll bet Neil doesn't ever play in his stocking feet! Keep it up!!

  • Thanks man, been jammin with you for awhile now,I put on your vids and plug-in my geetar and practice my chops..Lots of fun man..Keep em coming..

  • unbelievable attention to detail!! WOW!!

  • nic

  • Most impressive, my friend.

  • Great job dude. Niel Pert is awesome ! and did a great you job.

  • Just recently found your channel... You are an amazing drummer dude. I found myself spending all my free time at work watching your vids!! Friday night, April 22 I'll be sitting in the audience at Rush's Baltimore Maryland show!!!! You've got me all pumped up!!!!!

  • Very fluid motion on this one, concrats on all your work. Rush arrives April 3rd!

  • Not bad for a kid, not bad...

  • @porkythepig007 Kid? I wish. I am 15 years older than you........

  • Very good. Every good musician deserves good criticism and good praise. They deserve advise. Well, I have plenty of praise and no real criticism. But I do have advise. You don't do it EVERY time but I watch your knee and sometimes see you're not lifting your foot off the kick at the end of a hit, thus muffling your kick with your beater head. Most drummers are guilty of this; it's an awful habit. Just try to get in the habit of pulling your foot back after a kick each time. Again GREAT JOB!!

  • spot on dude! awesome!

  • Very strong man. Nicely done. One of the best drum covers i have seen anywhere.

  • Dude that snare sounds awesome! What are you playing on?

  • @ksluder This is my Starclassic Performer 14x5.5 snare, with birch shell. I have a Genera dry head on this.

  • Nicely done!!

  • Awesome!! Man you you are spot on. I really like the way you attack the kit.....Nick

  • WOW!!!!!!, you have spent a lot of time studying it really shows in the way you play

That was Awesome!!!! just a complete pleasure to watch, keep up the good work you can really tear it up, keep up the fantastic playing.

  • I can tell how much you are influenced by Neil in this performance. Your mannerisms are much like his. Awesome freakin job man. I am a 30 year Rush fan and started playing when I was 13. You are a credit to the instrument.

  • @maybelooking Thank you!

  • dude you guys like can hook up on line, thier are people hookoing up on line all the time, web cast, you can be in az and he can be in mi

  • Awsome dude.

  • Dude, if Rush ever needed a percussion understudy ( God forbid ) YOUR IT !

  • Unlike the original studio cut and the way Neil plays it now (same as you), its great to hear that extra snare shot at the finally in Limelight. TWO ONE ONE TWO as well.

  • Follow your dreams guy! You play with passion... congratulations... really good work!

  • since you have been playing for so many years, have you ever suffered from carpel tunnel or anything like that? i ask because i have playing drums and bass for a few years now and i feel occasional wrist pains. do you ever feel anything pain at all?

  • @eduardobadra Oh yes! In fact, I have to limit the hours I play because I might hurt too much. I do not have CT but I get inflamed wrists and shoulders. If I was playing more "relax" music, I would be ok but for Rush, I need to generate lots of power so some muscles are not too happy... The worse are my shoulders because I injured them long ago (playing baseball) and when reaching cymbals a far away (e.g. chinese), they can hurt. I need to warm up and stretch a lot and I don't do it enough... :(

  • BRILLIANT!!!!

  • i can tell you really care about tunning, they sound great!

  • @seanbalz I do spend quite a bit of time trying to tune the drums according to the song I play on the videos. I don't always succeed - Neil's drums sound very different across the years - but I try.

  • @guitarbridgecleaner SOrry, I'm in Arizona.....

  • Is it Real or is it Memorex?

    A truly inspiring performance AstroTama.

I wonder if Neil has watched any of your covers?

Sure would like to see your Band perform one day.

If all of the members in your band shine as bright as you do it would be a great show!!!

  • another flawless Rush Cover,... you nailed it Dr. Drums!!!!

  • flawless! wow dude i want to play as well as you do but I find it difficult to figure out what Peart is doing in his songs. Any tips?

  • @bassblair11 You have to start with the big picture first: where is the hi-hat, where is the ride, then work out the details one by one. Sometimes it's just a very small part that you have to focus on. It might take hours and hours to figure it out. That's the magic of Neil's playing. And, then, you must sit down and play that stuff.... Good luck!

  • Howdy! I need to learn this song to perform for the biggest rush fan i know. YOur video is helping me out IMMENSELY so I thank you very much.

  • @guitardude1230 You're welcome!

  • You are simply awesome I wish I had half your talent.

  • Wonderful work... :) Major Cudos!!!!!!!

  • Great work man!!

  • i wrote awesome halfway through the set, just finished it and you NAILED it dude

  • awesome

  • ur amazing man

  • Great performance. I think my favorite of yours is "Subdivisions", though. Rock on!

  • awesome, awesome, bloody awesome

  • Doesn't Dream Theater need a new drummer?

  • @jrush555 Yes and it won't be me... ;) I'm not a big fan of constant double-bass drumming so I'm screwed. ;)

  • Inspirational

  • Bloody Fantastic

  • Completely freakin AWESOME!!,,,Very impressed dude...props

  • You should try to play along with the song vital signs sometime.

  • @talsw513 Yeah, I don't know why I have not done it yet. I play it very often but for some reasons, no video yet... I'm weird. ;)

  • I just shat myself

  • That was studio tight. How are you micing your kit for the videos? Not bad for what seems to be a full range mic. I hope you jam with a band-maybe a Rush tribute band?? Go for it- lost my drums many years ago and used to bash to Rush in my basement..nice kit too!

  • Dude...Wow! That's all I can say!

  • Amazing man! Great job... sounds awesome and great show watching you play these songs!

  • @curlysheepishbas I love Porcupine Tree! I know several songs from Deadwing although I have not practiced them in quite some time. Gavin Harrisson is a absolute monster. I saw them in concert in Montreal a while back. Quite fabulous.

  • Excellent!! Beautiful work and a beautiful drum kit!!

  • I always enjoy your videos and am envious of your abilities! Do you know if Neil Peart has seen any of your videos?

I'm off to check out more of the new videos! :D

  • @TheCocoaDaddy I doubt Neil has seen my videos. He has other things to do that check YT, I'm sure...

  • @Astrotama I'm sure Neil has seen at least one of your videos, if not him, then one of the rush crew i bet. You never know, haha.

  • Sick job, P.

    You. Are. THE. MAN.

    Amazing!

  • Right on dooood! Exactly how I tap it out in my car...haha..Well done!

  • I salute you sir, very nicely done!

  • Awesome as always Pierre. Are you going to be able to see the Time Machine Tour? Looks like the closest to you would be the New Mexico show June 29th. Or one of the Red Rock shows, that would be worth the road trip I'm sure, man. I'm going to Summerfest July 3rd. It's going to be a blast. Cheers, oh and tell your wife that we are still waiting to see a team-up soon. My 18 year old plays the bass, and him and I team up all the time. Pretty cool, eh? See ya.

  • @rbeun Yes! We are seeing them twice. In Quebec City, on the Plaines d'Abraham in July (I expect at least 50-60000 people there) , and in Las Vegas in August (We'll go to RushCon too!). Should be pretty awesome! I'm learning "Caravan" right now and hope to have it fully memorized for a video very soon!

  • WOW! amazing. one of my all time favorite songs and you NAILED IT!

  • You are on top of the drummer food chain friend,,, you smoked that song, Iv'e played it and always miss,,,, this or that,,, i heard no diff from you on the first listen,,, Great Job :-) and please keep posting..

  • once again another great video like allways keep it up!

  • Agora minha postagem vai ser em portugues mesmo!

    Do caralho!

  • Your drums sound EXACTLY like Niel's, pretty amazing.

Great cover, as usual. Can't wait to see some more with the improved quality. :]

  • Again, outstanding job... I agree with other comments. Would like to see a few differnent angles. Regardless, nice watching these.

  • hmm can you just keep it in one spot? or do you use it elsewhere?

  • @astrotama great job keep drumming away

  • awsome, very good right on time. keep it up!

  • Awesome again...Are you in, or have you ever been in a Rush cover band? I would go to every show if you could find a bass and lead guitar player as good as you are.

  • @drumbasher Yes, I'm in a Rush tribute band here in Tucson. We are planning our first shows somewhere around September.

  • BRAVOOOOO!!!!!!! that was solid. One quick question....have you thought about shooting from different angles and then editing them all together. Would love to see a shot from above and from the back.

  • @djrickysmith Yes but it's difficult. From the back, I will need to tear down a wall.... :)

  • @Astrotama Nah, just put one on top of that book shelf to your left, another one on the right, and bob's your uncle.

  • the intro is cool

  • so you're basically re-covering the songs in better quality?

    Thank you!!!

looking forward to the improved 2112.

  • how long does it to set up your drum set like that very cool :)

  • @ddrusa Way too long! ;) With the electronic kit and all, at least 2 hours.
