Documentary produced by Phoenix Satellite TV, if I'm not mistaken it's the same Phoenix cable channel on cable TV. This is a wonderfully produced documentary with all the details and costumes to emulate the period. However, I'm reluctant towards the assassination story as portrayed on commercial films such as "Jin Ke", now echoed here. The sheer magnitude of soldiers' numbers, formations and battles are overwhelming in this production and I really admire how well it was made.
@Merlin9071 I am Shi Huang Di, speaking from the underworld. I must confess. In 221 B.C.E., I unified all warring states under heaven, that is, under my rule. My only regret is that I was not a benevolent ruler, and because I wanted to live forever, to rule forever, I succumbed to the madness caused by my drinking the elixir of everlasting life, that is, a mixture of herbal tea and liquid mercury. My Mandate of Heaven was taken away and was eventually passed-on to the Han Dynasty.
@Merlin9071 *rotfl* Poor command of English sparkled all the misunderstandings! Allow me to correct you. What I assume you were trying to say was, "IF" not "IT" If the first Emperor Qin did not committed all the evil doings 2000 years ago, China would have been a better place know and the current citizens of China would have been happier now.
Because Emperor Qin massacred almost all the scholars in China, burned almost all the texts of inventions, studies, records, formulas, etc.

@Merlin9071 how do you know he didnt do this 2000 years ago? the people talking in this video are sceientist's and im sure they know what they are talking about. Dont get me wrong, i love china, im learning chinese and training Wushu (wich is an chinese martial arts) i guess there arnt any proof he did do this, but there arnt any proof that says he didnt do it either
@PET3RRULEZ its pretty much impossible to know, i belive it happend, its more proof that he did than he didnt do it, you know what i meen? there are more proof that ghost's exist than their not
@PET3RRULEZ Well, we can't be certain that he did do anything, but a lot of tangible evidence exists, and everything directs us in thinking that he did. It's a lot like a police investigation, we can never be sure, all we can do is find evidence, interpret it, compare it, bring it all together and try to guess as accurately as possible what might have happened.
That's how history works, it's never objective, but that's the closest to objective as we can get
@nameless527 I think you misunderstood Merlin9071's original comment - I think he meant that if he didn't do this 2000 years ago, China would be a greater country today. Which is, ultimately, impossible to say. Though I think it's wrong, myself.
@aznpride0 I think is Discovery not certain tough I watch the other versions of History Channel and Nat Geo and I know there are not this one. So I guess that only leaves Discovery.

A economic lesson is taught, the emperor spent money his nation did not have. By building the great wall of China he was doing what the Democrats in the US and the Europeans did. That created chaos in the economy. We never learn.
@tltan88nyc Nope! You are wrong! China did learn and that is why China is not in this current economy crisis. Because China did not believe in spending money that were not earned. Like Europe and America, they spent using credit cards. Thus leaving them to rot in this current economy crisis!
@andyjiunwei - yeah it's a great pity people find it so hard to learn from aeons ago mistakes others made, and just want to keep repeating them instead.
@TruKnight355 Haven't you been watching the news? The burial chamber of Emperor Qin was already found when you posted that comment!!! Like two years back?
@andyjiunwei what are you talking about? Of course I know they know where it is, but they havent excavated it yet, aka dug it up and had a look inside and made another documentary showing us the contents! Read the comment closer next time before you reply.
