  • Great! Thanks for posting.

  • They must have been so poor back then that they couldn't afford to feed Fred.

    :-(

    Poor thing.

  • Just to think that the critics clasified this band as "cheap", at that time...!!

Compare it to what came in the 90s and 2000s, and they're Beethoven... Ha ha ha!!

LOVE THIS GROUP!! Thank you so much for this vid!!!

  • 30+ years later and they are still F($*#&$G HOTT!

  • @agurleydaniels

    I concur

  • Thanks for posting this rare gem!

  • i think they have two masterpieces ¨the B-52's¨ and ¨Wild Planet¨,,,,,after that they lost some kind of direction even though ¨Mesopotamia¨ and ¨Whammy¨ are great albums,,,,,,,,,then came a strange time with ¨Bouncing of the Satellites¨ and Ricky's death,,,,3 years in blank,,,,,and finally the album that sold them to the entiry world ¨Cosmic Thing¨ and i´m not sure but i feel something change,,, for me at that moment they were like any other band..they left to be specials .its only my opinion

  • oh my gosh again!! i use to play guita & sing this in my band in canoga park with the gogos!

  • THis is seminal late twentieth century american music. Truly fantastic.

  • YEAH!!! Dance the "pogo" and "slam" dancing too!!! WAY cool!

  • I wish I knew how to set up a guitar the way Ricky Wilson did.

  • chills!!!! fucking awesome!

  • ed- this was probably shot on video, not film. to do film you'd need to have fairly pro equipment (i.e. sync between the camera & audio recorder) and what makes it b&w was the video camera itself.

  • Wonder if they made this black and white on purpose because back then it was actually more expensive to film in black and white than color basically because nobody sold that type of film anymore. I remember, because I was making movies back t hen as well. You could not get black and white film..

  • I was involved in TV in the early 1980s and this looks to me like the kind of one-tube camera we used for shooting the message wheel (a big, round wheel with index cards that spun around a stationary camera, which showed PSAs whenever we weren't broadcasting). At that time it was cheaper to shoot B&W TV because video tubes -- yes, tubes -- were expensive and had to be replaced often. The white patina and lack of depth is the result of this camera's one video vacuum tube being "etched" by light.

  • right doug. i used 8mm films at that time and they sucked compared to b/w cameras. this is b/w video.

  • "he's got his cloven hove on the floor"too great

  • I love this so much!

  • HELP! The Devils in /My/ Car! I got devil juice in my...CARBURATOR! I got the /devil/ in my cigarette lighteeeeeeer!

  • Es realmente emociante ver los inicios de una gran banda.

  • great

  • "freeway to hell, we'r burnin up whoa-oh-oh-oh"

if that doesn't say everything, i don't know what does.

  • I always thought they said "burning up the road"

  • very well put Karlitoriv. They do have "the power to make you loose your mind and dance.." To this day I can't sit still or wipe the smile off my face when I hear old B52's. Makes me feel Soooo good. That's Rock-n-roll Baby

  • Amazing video!

  • I don't wanna go to the devil!! Well, maybe just for a little while. This band is the cornerstone of my youth -- will never ever stop loving them. Q-POWER!

  • I didn't know Laura Petrie sang with the B52s!

  • Oh, man... that's hysterical. Thanks for that belly laugh.

  • Very wild crowd! You don't see that very much in these days. But I guess the B's have that magic that not many bands have, the power to make loose your mind and dance like the world's coming to an end.

  • you have a way with words. we should all be dancing like the worlds coming to an end. maybe it would bring us all together more and postpone the End just a while longer. When I drop dead I want to be dancing.

  • we're really tearin tar,

We're goin 90 mles an hour

    Ho-He's drivin me crazy
