Heh. All the proprietary software (say, Flash player which is required for YouTube, or Shockwave) never cost two pounds, let alone two thousand. Unless Michael Hanlon was saying people were getting messages telling them to buy a new computer, he was blowing smoke even then.
I'd never heard of Michael Hanlon until this interview. I believe he's a writer, but now I know him as a pathetically negative and dismissive man. "Doctor Who belongs in the 60s and 70s" is such an ignorant viewpoint to have had even then, and the success of the new series has since shown him how laughable his comments are.
And to be so contemptuous about the webcast and saying that there's no future in web-based media just makes his opinions now look even more foolish.
i've spent a long time today re-working the Dalek lights and they're now perfectly synched - some people would think me mad for spending all bloody day synching up Dalek lights on a meaningless clip about a forgotten webcast of a sci-fi tv series
At least Sylvester had faith.
Hanlon must feel a right Charlie now.
