Blades are one of the worst things to get hit with. However, just because a person uses an MG doesn't mean they're unskilled, I used MGs to great effect, rifles fire too slowly, and, lasers take too much EN for me. Besides, highly useful in taking down missiles. But, yes, blades are the most difficult, but, most fun in cases, weapon to use. Moonlight blades especially.

its a good game i just recommend do NOT use the swords they are very un accurate either a machine gum or an assualt rifle and have a cpl mecs diif styles like very fast light weapons ave speed and ave def and ave stremght like ave weapons then slow but high def and high weapon power

Swords are unaccurate when you havnt had practice, in the hands of someone who's has spent a considerable amount of time using them, their quiet dangerious. Mainly from lack of ammo supply and high damage, also, getting moonlight blades help considerably.

blading needs time to practice and used to them. skills with them may even need many days to acquire. if u can blade well, it shows that u have more skills than just plain using a MG and spraying. i do agree that using guns needs skills too BUT blading is harder. so mastering it makes you have an achievement with the game that you mastered something.

Though its laggy as hell on PSN, much less lag on XBL but theres also less people on XBL.

actually, there´s no lag on XBL. only when someone in the room has a very bad connection. BTW, MP for FA is really good. At first, you get asskicked in a matter of seconds, but then you start to get the little tricks and get much better, both at AC making and at fighting. You can´t improve that much on your own. I suggest using a lightweight with a machine gun and a shotgun or a good laser rifle like ALTAIR, and practise with the QB.

the blade attack for the tank and quad legs is good for ranges.. basically good enough to attack them far causing u to get away from ur enemy before they even attack but then again.. the tank legs suck ass for blades :P

the last 2 i think was using blades with higher attack. and the last 2 attacking style was to utilise more of the "double swing" of both blades to do damage instead of each swing as for the first few. therefore due to the double swing, more damage is dealt if it hits. this leads to faster fights.

this i my assumptions, not rly sure though

The AC's energy blades have a range for their strike. If you're RIGHT NEXT to them it doesn't have enough leverage to apply anything at all. Keep the enemy close but not right next to them and you'll cut them down faster :D

best ac i found was a light AC,ShotGun, MoonLight blade or w/e the best one. Scatter Missles(the second one)then sniper rilfe on back and just tuning your ac to max on all horizontal Boost, side, front, and then max out on turning, then kp and energy output. Plus w/e u need to do for the load.

Goal- use sniper rilfe and mid range, shotgun at close ( takes out their PA, use blade for a 1 hit KO ). Very simple, i used one Sniper Rifle shot, 4 shotgun, and 1 blade when he was 22400. I won easly.

u know i just realized something, these blade swinnging motions are completely unrealistic. since if you are traveling at 200 mph, if you swing from the front, it doesn't matter if you hit your enemy, your gonna crash into him and cause major dmg to both yourself and him. ofcourse its also unrealistic that mechs that big can fly at 200mph.

The Alliyah parts, (the body and boosters) are all geared for speed and quick-boosting.

also, I personally prefer using the Tellus legs though for more Weapon space and armor. The Maxwell generator has a good balance between weight, en output and KP output. The Linstant parts also make a very light and fast AC with a huge PA gauge. Also, if you want a higly mobile AC, you'll have to pay for it in fewer hi-power weapons.

For PA, get parts that say they're good for PA. Also pick up the "Euphoria" shoulder mount. For Energy, buy the heaviest generator possible and the parts that take the lowest energy hit. If you want to squeeze every last drop out, you can also tune for it.

the trick is to stay calm and predict your enemies movements a fraction of a second before he does it, move to soon or to late and you'll just cut at air.

So, I've been playing through AC4... And... Blades are hard to use. =/ Do they get better in time? Currently when I'm fighting a NEXT it just boosts the hell away and I can never catch up to it. Do Boosters for Light Mechs get good enough so that they can catch up to them or something?

Shinkada, equip an FCS with a high blade lock distance rating. You'll be able to track some from a distance when you attack. You'll also want a little arm maneuverability. I made a lightweight dual blade mech that can make repeat slashes against most opponents. Those that I can't combo on I try to force into a corner so I can do so. AS missiles are good if your FCS can't handle standard missiles, and most melee mechs can't. Use them to soften an enemy up, or confuse them before closing in.

The action is called "quick turn (QT)".

You can do QT by operating a quick boost while turning right or left without moving.
