@oscarwildinthestreet So are you saying that Obama didn't say he wanted to eliminate employer coverage? Please explain why you say that Fox lies. Where's the lie in this video? I only see that Obama lied because a year later he promised we could keep our employer insurance.
Don't let the radio talk guys (that make millions stirring people up) or politicians (on both sides) that think politics is governance ( it isn't)...
don't let them turn Americans against Americans.
We all need to know what is in the actual legislation.
We all need to calm down. Otherwise the politicians, ( on both sides) the Insurance companies ( who are NOT on your side) and blow hard radio guys that make their living
inciting anger...will win. And we(America) will lose.
I plead with my conservative friends: PLEASE don't take seriously those that claim:
A. There are provisions that promote suicide or euthanasia.
B. Your bank accounts will be accessed by the government
C. The Government will run Hospitals
I have read the portions of the bill that the alarmist opposition claim support these things. But the bill says no such thing. Americans are frankly being lied to. This is nothing but dirty politics, turning citizens against each other.
His plan calls for a 5K voucher or tax credit for families that don't have employer insurance. 5k is way below the national average for a family policy The national average for comprehensive health insurance is $12k.
Also 5k a year for the 30-35 million families that don't have employer health care over ten years is 1.5 -1.75 trillion.
As much or more than the Dem Plan! And it still wouldn't buy a good policy for the average family.
Check out Congressman Paul Ryan's Plan - It puts the healhcare where it should be - tied with the citizen rather than the employer. Obama's plan is nothing more than a US version of CanadaCare or UKCare which are both pathetic examples that illustrate what type of rationing we could expect to see here.
John- it is good that you are looking at alternatives. However you are factually inaccurate when you say "Obama's plan is nothing more than a US version of CanadaCare or UKCare"
i don't know you well enough to know why you say this. Do you get your info from the political opposition?. Let me start by pointing out that Obama has not offered any particular plan. There are several (in draft form) in Congress. None of the plans before Congress resemble a Canadian style system...none.
Further, the draft House Bill (the one that is the most liberal) & most miss quoted by the right, will never see light of day. This will be decided in the Senate Finance Committee. They have all the cards. There's little chance they will include the provisions that the right is so up in arms about. I ask my conservatives friends to step back & relax.
A. The House is doing nothing but masturbating and or throwing feces at each other..and
privet? do you mean private? look at the Veterans Hospital....This is a prime example of Gov't Healthcare. It's pathetic compared to private insurance options. The system may be broke, but the solution is NOT more government involvement.
Here in the UK we have the NHS, its 18x better then your private insurance options and its run by the government + as its a very small percentage of the tax, its a lot cheaper...
repubs giving scripts and bussing protesters to states that are not there own states and making a rucuss is the same as the guard in iran not letting the people listen or be heard they wont let people listen or discuss things they are horible hired people who wont let amiricans listen and discuss things at a meeting and should go to jail do it in your own state stay away from ours jerks we want to learn and listen & have our time to ask questions do it in your own states stay out of ours redits
In the U.K, if you work, you contribute a portion of your wage to national insurance. This fee more than pays itself back if you get sick and if you dont at least you know your contributing to the hospitals to help someone else. We introduced the system after world war 2 ( When are country was on its knees financialy ) because if there was one thing we learned during that war it was we are all equal and we should be treated as such.
That is over twice the amt that Obama is proposing. That number will also go a lot higher if companies let the gov pay their health care costs with a $5k check.
the honest lilt to his voice belies the trechery that he is behind the corporate effort to bus these professional rabble rousers across state lines into town hall meetings to disrupt THE most fundamental right of an americn citizen--the freedom to discuss and debate-this will backfire on these corporate whores, just as the tea-bagging lunacy did. how much is enough to sell your soul to the devil and the american people down the river, mr. demint?

The people panicking are the ones who would rather believe this knucklehead than to find out the facts for themselves.

Only 70% of Americans support a public option.
Wow Americans are panicked.

70% - Where are you getting your facts, MSNBC?

Polling Report. But you probably don't like them either because they agregate actual data.
We know conservatives hate actual data.
