  • ...sorry I don't eat apple nor I berry picking...

  • Months later I cannot stop laughing at that johnny depp comment from above listener...

  • Keith Urban was the star of this remake!! why isn't anyone talking about him??!!!

  • That was bad ass!

  • I entirely missed this performance

  • Mayer, lookin like a boss

  • Mayer can sing, he just look/acted really nervous right there

  • theirvoices work so well together!

  • Am I the only one that wish this was longer :-)

  • Nora has the perfect voice for this song!

  • Jones has JUST THE RIGHT voice to sing this song <3

  • I will ALWAYS love Mayer (no homo) as a musician. No matter what he does. He looks like Johnny Depp though haha.

  • At First, I Thought It Was Johnny Depp - I'm Sure Others Did As Well

  • I hate Mayers music but the dude is the king... sooooo funny....

  • this suck's

  • John Mayer is a giant douche but Norah Jones is beyond compare... who the hell is Keith Urban.

  • @drzendoom John Mayer is Jesus, Keith Urban is a boss. Who the fuck are you?

  • @riceandbeans643 Bruce Springsteen is the Boss, John Mayer knows he's a giant douche and admits it publicly due to his crippling misogyny. And I'm apparently the guy who has to tell you the who's who of rock and roll.

  • @drzendoom I said A boss, not THE boss. I couldn't care less about Springsteen's nickname. And seriously, who gives a crap about Mayer's relationships? He's an incredible musician.

  • didnt no johnny depp played the guitar

  • Who can argue with 3 amazing artists giving tribute to one of musics all-time bests, Dolly Parton, singing one of HER BEST songs. Nothing but thumbs up.

  • Jack White still did the best cover no matter what.

  • Is John Mayer tone def here...?? hahaha

  • @007Chirish are u tone deaf

  • I like Dolly's version the best. Olivia Newton-John has a cover version that's pretty good, too!

  • Brilliant! Keith is an underrated guitarist, and majorly cute :) Add this to several great covers of this song, including those by Patti Smith, the White Stripes and of course Dolly herself :)

  • he looks like orlando bloom!!

  • i love this SONG

  • I would love to see john sing the whole thing

  • These 3 rocked this song!!!

  • F

3 commercials abusing a good old song

    SHAME

  • this proformance made me fall in love with john mayer

  • John Mayer DOES NOT look like Johnny Depp. Just because he grows his hair out and has a goatee he's johnny depp? thats so retarded. Look at their facial structures it bares no resemblance. John Mayer can do what the fuck he wants because he's bad ass. P.s. Johnny Depp didn't create that look so it's not his.

  • Love this song and love keith :)

  • they sound amazing together

  • I thought this was the STAND out performance. I thought John Mayer was amazing and Keith looked like he had a lot of fun and Norah was absolutely beautiful. It's a shame it wasn't longer and 'Battle Studies' lost to 'Fame Monster' which is just crap, where's Kanye when you need him. John deserves more credit for his work. He's literally the best mainstream guitarist and vocalist of our generation and so is Keith urban but 'continuum' was a masterpiece. Especially the song 'slow dancing in a bur

  • john, unfortunately the depp look is not working...

  • JOHN MAYER is Amazing

  • i love this perfomance <3

  • did anyone else think john wasn't 10/10 on his singing in this one?

  • @5332274 nope.. apparently it's just you

  • John and Keith on those guitars give me chills. And of course, John himself does too :)

  • @ShayEffinLa same with me but with Keith :)

  • amazing performance !

  • She has an amazing voice!!!!

  • THAT WAS AWESOME !!

  • I loved this! Norah's voice and Keith and John's guitars! I'm waiting for the Grammy's to put this one on Itunes!

  • @jennjenn35 hell me and you both. I kept this on my DVR just so I could watch this part. I must have rewinded it like 5 times. Man them together and singing was ridiculouly amazing. They did Dolly justice. I love me some Dolly Pardon.

  • John's voice makes me meltttt

  • @cellah1502 OMG, you couldn't be any more right. BS is heaven, John Mayer's god XD

  • Keith Urban and John Mayer are fantastic together!! looking forward to seeing/hearing them again, at tiger jam 2011 in Vegas!!!!!!!

  • They need to get in the studio and cut that version..It was tight..Norah Jones has a great voice..

  • loved this performance love all three artists they are all awesome.

  • I agree with the majority - they should all three get an award for Best Performance at the 2011 Grammys! And I'm sure Dolly IS proud . . .

  • beautiful performance

  • i didnt know johnny depp played guitar

  • @psykosel like, he actually does though... but yeah, john mayer randomly adopts the depptastic look, like why?

  • @psykosel hahaha Kanye's always right <3 love his tweets. I can imagine how Josh Groban sings it :)))) and btw John Mayer is still super beautiful with that beard <333

  • @psykosel Your Depp comment,,, I can't shed it and laugh alot cuz whenever I now see Mayer and even Depp...you get it!

  • Keith is so underrated. All are equally better than every other person at the Grammy's that night.

  • its very obvious john mayer had to read the lyrics..i love his music but how can you not do your homework for your grammy's performance? cmawn...

  • @ckorba He's looking the same direction as Norah Jones, plus he's the only person having to stand backwards and twist himself around to face the mic. But besides that, even if he was, maybe he was nervous and wanted to make sure he got the words right, no big deal.

  • The most captivating performance at the Grammy's!!!!!!!!

  • BY FAR THE BEST PERFORMANCE OF THE NIGHT HANDS DOWN... i got chills .theres nothing better then raw talent .. no smoke no dancers no lights no gimmicks ..

  • this is amazing .. rewinded my tv at least 20 times to listen to it over and over ...

  • why be so amazing and then not do the whole song?

    WHY?

  • AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING

She sings like an angel and the guys made a brilliant job- but too short!

please release it as a single!

  • just AMAZING AMAZING

  • I really thought this was one of the best parts of the show it's sad the performance was so short.

  • Love this!!!

  • I LOVED this! Great song! Keith really impressed me!

  • /watch?v=GRwrNg6f5T0

the same video.. better video and sound quality!!

  • Celebrating the genius that is Miss Dolly Parton.

  • One of the best trios ever! i still can not believe that John Mayer didn't win anything. Really good and refreshing performance :D

  • @McFilipa30 yessss I cant' believe it :((( how Lady Gaga can win best pop vocal album over John?????

  • @TheOkanokazuya Lady Gaga is talented and so is John Mayer. of course nothing compares to John Mayer, in my opinion XD their opinion was just different. there's nothing we can do, which sucks

  • Great performance !!

I wish it was longer though.

John looks great , Keith sounds awesome & Norah looks beautiful.

  • Hmm....I don't like this. Love Keith and John normally (Norah is elevator music in my opinion). But this sux. Except the guitar work. That's cool...Still wanna go and listen to Dolly now.

  • i don't care about the other 2, i just love to see Keith

  • @kurban1967 right here with you mate!

  • Also John is an incredible guitarist, Keith isn't on his level. John learned that in one day and played it with ease.. You can tell it's hard for Keith to stay on beat, play the guitar riff and sing the words at the same time. They added John for reinforcement.

  • @tnschick247 im sorry but that is the most lame and shallow comment i have ever heard in the defence and attack on a musicians ability. Keith was on beat, sang great and he knew the words, while john mayer played a simpler part sang the melody to the best of his ability (hes never been known to be a great vocalist) and norah killed it like she always does. Please people, there all grammy winners for a reason, and in these three are NUMEROUS grammy winners for a big reason, they're all great.

  • @jaxtell296 Calm down... just my opinion when I watched it. Like you said, they're all good.

  • @tnschick247 You're kidding, right? I've been playing guitar for years, and Keith blew me away here. John is there to keep the rhythm and to play the simple melody, Keith is the actual lead guitarist. John might be a good guitarist, but Keith is the one who shines here.

  • Woah there, guess I was just defending John, everyone was picking on him and I think hes extremely underrated.

  • @tnschick247 you are truly delusional. by this array of information, i'm assuming you were backstage at the grammys with them, right?

  • @sjmoy1 what "array" of information? I was simply stating my opinion.

  • No one here seemed to notice, John actually changed the words at the end of his part from "I can't compete with you Jolene" to "No one can compete with you Jolene" - That's why Norah smiled and Keith said "right"

  • my name's jolene :)

  • Thank you for posting this... Dolly Parton is one of my all time favorite country legends.

  • I literally watched this like 80 times thank you for posting!!!!!!

  • i love me some mayer and norah jones

  • John Mayer has a teleprompter in front of him at every concert he plays. . .

  • Besides, this is a country song. I wouldn't be surprised if Keith may have known this song by heart.

  • I think John Mayer did fine. It takes a tremendous amount of courage for an artist, whose life has been distorted and spun by the media in a very harsh light, to get in front of his peers and the whole world to perform. Lessons are a b*tch for all of us, but in the distorted and twisted glare of the media, they s*ck. Keep putting one foot in front of the other Mr. Mayer, this too SHALL PASS.

  • @geezloueeze Yeah be that as it may, but he still should have remembered his lines to the song.

  • Comment removed

  • norah jones voice makes me melt.

  • Mayerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

    I love this guy.

  • Did John win any Grammy's?

  • @WickyGirl not anything major /: Battles Studys won best Engineered album, non classical. But that doesnt really go to john

  • I personally don`t think it was weak or whatever from John Mayer He was asked to perform and he agreed so he also agreed to read/sing out or not. He could have said no I don`t want to perform but he didn`t and did a good job. I even kinda liked his voice in here, because if you listen to this and his other songs, his voice in here sounds really different in a better way.

  • Don't rip on JM for reading the teleprompter..maybe it was last minute ....maybe one of them wanted to join them to make the rhythm more percussive.

  • Loved this so much. LOL also, lay off john. xD I'm thinking maybe it was an impromptu thing...and it rocked.

  • loved it ... best performance of this years grammy

  • You can hear Keith Urban tell Mayer "right" at the end of his part because Mayer didn't know it. lol

  • one of the best moments at this years Grammys!

  • john mayer was told the day of to do that song with them...

  • I liked it, but couldn't John Mayer learn the lyrics? It was as bad as watch SNL reading the teleprompter. Why wasn't Dolly there? Normally Lifetime Achievements are handed out in person.

  • AMAZING. except for john mayer....great guitar by Keith and norah was awesome!

  • john's part was a little weak. He didnt seem comfortable at all

  • @shootthephoneco yeah. i heard he was told that day he was going to perform that song with them. And i wouldn't take mayer as a avid Dolly fan. lol

  • @DrewWarriors maybe. They announced that he was playing with urban like friday. So i think he would have known... He could have just gotten lazy on it haha

  • from the side norah jones looks like selma blair :O

  • from the side nora jones looks like selma blair :O

  • haha no dislikes!!!

(in a creepy/ threatening voice) and it better stay like that.....

  • Keith is the standout on this one! Loved it. ~0;-D

  • This was totally the best performance of the night... they're gods with the guitar and her voice is amazing!!!

I love the way Keith moves!! he's sooo hot!! :))

  • @bubbblycircus haha, I totally agree with u..and i like the way keith moves too..lol

  • I'm a big fan of john mayers music but he screwed this up, he probably should have learned the words

  • @brantbrns probably?? He had no right sharing the stage with Keith and Norah.

  • Best performance of the night!

  • Mayer Wins

  • norah's voice is soooo gosh love it...and keith looks soooo hott here i love the way he moves hahah

  • Dolly is still better...

  • I really enjoyed the Jolene ditty until John-boy’s turn. He fucked it up for the others reading from the teleprompter. He just should have kept plucking his 2 strings and nodding and let Urban and Jones continue with their rather enjoyable performance of the song.

  • @astros0 considering he was told that day he was doing that song with them. and him and keith are playing the same part on guitar. Mayer just seems to play it with less effort because he is a more skilled guitar player. Not knocking Keith Urban he's amazing in himself. But mayer is one of the best mainstream guitarists of the past decade.

  • @DrewWarriors ha, you can clearly tell that they're playing different parts, and keith's part is the main melody. plus you can hear it more. if anything, i thought keith's performance seemed much more less carefree by the way he was moving to the music, while mayer seemed kind jerky. (lol) plus mayer's voice was alright, nothing spectacular. i like him as a musician and i love his music, but please don't say he's the best. it's nearly laughable.

  • @sjmoy1

total agree. I dont' know much about keith urban but he totally won me over with this performance. great vocals, great stage presence. I love norah jones and her vocals were really good but she's didn't really do anything and john mayer came off as awkward to me though his vocals were good as well.

  • @sjmoy1 now that i pay more attention. Keith does a play a more involved part. However, they work together so well. I love their collaboration stuff. Either way. Thats how mayer always plays acoustic guitar. And never did i say he was the best. I said he was one of the best. Joe Bonamassa and a few others i think surpass him right now. But he's only 33 and he's still growing as a guitar player.

  • Her voice is AMAZING! :)

  • absolutely stunning

  • Keith and Norah HELD IT DOWN!! Yummmmmm SO friggin good. NOT okay that its less than two minutes

  • stunning. i need this on my ipod!

  • I agree with many others......Guys, please, please release a full length version, and it has to be just like this, unplugged and raw. I will buy it....twice! - Excellent performance.

  • My money says they smoked a heavy indica right before going onstage.

  • it pisses me off that this was the by far the best performance of the night, not because I hate it but because they should've been allowed to do at least the whole song. Hopefully next year the grammys will allow real talent and singing on the stage.

  • This was the BEST performance of the night - when will the single be released?!!!!

  • My favorite performance of the night.

  • John Mayer having to read the teleprompter was just as bad as christina aguilera messing up the words at the superbowl......professionals? Great job keith urban and norah jones!!!!!!

  • @johnparrigon no its not shut up

  • John Mayer having to read the teleprompter was just as bad as christina aguilera messing up the words at the superbowl......professionals?

  • Fresh, exciting, and, yeah, ... maybe even stunning (the only distraction and detraction is Mayer's squinting at cue cards). One of the best.

  • you ended when keith started to talk!!!!!!!!! ahhh!

  • this was such a beautiful performance. favourite of the night! so underplayed, though.

  • vocally this was totally the best performance. they all sounded amazing and definitely did the song/dolly justice in my opinion.

  • I absolutely thought that this performance was the hit of the night! Keith Urban played awesome guitar and I LOVED Nora Jones! I wish they would make this a full recording! Excellent, thanks for posting!!

  • norah jones is incredible!!!!

  • My fav performance too! She has such an awesome voice.

  • Keith Urban is the only country-ish singer with an austrailian accent, (that i know of) can't even tell...
