The only thing that Iaido and Kendo got in common is that they both come from Kenjutsu. for an example Okuriashi sabaki (fumi comi) is the proper kendo way of moving the feet, his hakama is tied in an odd fashion and theres no attack in Kendo aiming at the enemys crotch.
