Nunca en la vida les salió bien, ni en vivo eléctrico o acústico, son unos perros en vivo. PERO QUE PEDAZO DE TEMA ESTE, UNO DE LOS MEJORES DE LOS '90
Here is a reply from the Delilah songwriter himself on the subject of Fastball : ...About 10 years or so ago, we questioned the copyright details with their lawyers, and eventually won the case in the American court. So....we now get paid when they exploit it. It did enter the American charts at that time, and was a substantial success.
Just listened to the Tom jones song...... No comparison at all. Words are totally different. If anything the rythym is close but in all the song is totally different
@davidofpiano423 you can't hear the guitar or bass because the audio quality isn't the best. It doesn't sound that out of tune to me, and the drummer sets the speed of the song so that can be blamed oh him alone, although it's not a lot faster.
FASTBALL WAS SUED BY THE WRITERS OF THE SONG "DELILAH", WHICH WAS A HIT FOR TOM JONES IN THE 60'S. THEY LOST THE LAWSUIT (AND RIGHTLY SO) AS "THE WAY" WAS COPIED ALMOST NOTE-FOR-NOTE FROM "DELILAH".
any proof? I saw nothing of it online...and also...I did check out the Tom Jones song(which was fantastic)...that little Spanish bit is sort of a generic motive in music....I am hyper vigilante on catching rip offs all the time...this would be really low on my barometer for a direct swipe...and I don't think it would ever lose in court...so was this something you posted based on fact...would love to read the details.
@gmd1417 You're a dumbass, and typing in all caps reinforces that point. They didn't steal shit from anyone, and I'd bet they've written songs 50 times better than anything Tom Jones wrote
@gmd1417 And I just listened to "Delilah". The beginnings sound KIND OF similar. A few notes definitely match up perfectly. But the whole style of both the songs takes a completely different direction about a minute in, and sound absolutely nothing alike after that. Not to mention, I was totally right about Fastball coming up with way better stuff than Tom Jones
@yourlocaldude This is definitely his midlife crisis. He changes looks every few months. I think he's got it figured out though, being married and all now
WHAT HAPPENED TO HIS VOICE! it just crapped out and it sounds all wierd. they need the sound filter and the piano. add those an' u get a killer concert
Good song on the album but they didn't really seem to put much effort into the live act don't you think? Just kind of standing there and playing it as if they're bored with the one exception of maybe the first solo...
@fullautomatic555 Hi Fullautomatic. True, the singer can be limited by holding a guitar and being in front of a mic, but not restricted to statue-status. And there are other band members too. I just feel that they are not putting much into their performance here. I can't post a link here but if you do a search for "arcade fire rebellion coachella" and look at the top result it's a good example of how a band can put on a really good performance and get the crowd going.
Who gives a Fuck what he looks like, keep feeding the media image, it's MUSIC you don't look at it, listen and here the beauty in each note and vocal harmony! grow up! and one more personal note if you ever hope to find true love don't rely on looks or you will regret it all your life.
@Cgar182 I give a Fuck what he looks like. Performing a song live isn't ONLY about the music. The music of course is a major part of it, but if it was only about that then just sit at home and listen to the CD. A live gig is supposed to be entertaining, and the band should be putting on a performance for the crowd. What do you think the point of a band playing live is?
Love and looks is a different story, but that's not relevant here.
I used to listen to this song when I was a kid. When I hear it now, I am surprised by the message I get out of it. This is easily one of the best songs of the last millennium...
Fk me if ur gunna play a song live u could at least practice the fkr first...great lead break...only trouble is it's to the wrong fkin song! Better than Britney....just!!!
@ninjazinhiding39 Lol no, he just hit his midlife crisis a few years ago, dude. These guys are older than most think. They didn't assemble into Fastball until they were all in their 30's. They're all in their mid-40's now. Believe me, the most these guys do is drink and smoke a little dope.
I actually kind of dig this version, it has a very raw feel to it. Less produced and slick than the studio version.
Everyone seems to think it's so awful. I'm wondering how many live bands you guys have seen because I've seen a ton and this is not bad at all, especially for a somewhat popular radio song.
I've seen way too many horrifically bad live versions of popular songs to put this in the bad category.
WELL for those not familiar with this particular concert, the chick is a wicked bassist she turned down a good deal to play for them . Another is half the band had jyust gotten over or , still had pneumonia during this event. The special stage affects also affected the instruments I believe the lead singer was actually minutely shocked at one part of this song (thus why he stops and looks at his hands all a sudden).
fastball save us from today's music....
