#399 - Q&A: Will motherboard upgrade kill RAID 0 array?

I had a 870 mobo then switched it out for a 990fx then switched that out for a better 890fx chipset mobo and still have my same RAID 0 Array

I have one comment. When you run a RAID 0 configuration you probably want speed. So.. either an operating system or just the programs are on those disk. I you switch motherboards types you MUST reinstall your OS because it will not longer function. Most programs might work as long as they don t use the registry, because if you reinstall your OS, all your keys will be gone.

Just because you're annoyed by someone doesn't mean that they have to change. The fact that you feel the need to label his behaviour are faulty says a lot more about yourself than anything else.

It actually does matter how long he has been doing it this way, because in all that time he has managed to get a huge community supporting him.

@labobo Sure. It signifies your inability to deal with differences in people. You're not alone in this, in fact, most people fail in this aspect. Heck, I haven't yet mastered it, but I have come to the point that I don't find it logical to be annoyed by others. They are not here to entertain me, after all. They're here to be themselves, and if I don't like it, I guess it just isn't my thing. It doesn't mean that there is anything wrong with the other person. There is no need for labeling others.

Lets take a common example:

You want to watch a 30 second video on yt but before you can watch it you have to sit and wait for a 60 second ad.

Now isn't that annoying?

@Demoras Lets see (as far as i know): he started on youtube , created a website, got popular, tried to force people to his site by not posting anymore video on yt anymore. Failed miserably, started to post videos on yt again.

Now that pretty much sums it up.

Quite nasty behavior...

You can compare his first videos with some of the new ones to get an idea on how his ego have gotten bigger, in a bad way.

@labobo Of course his ego got bigger. People like the content he provides doing the things he likes. What's not to be grateful for? He didn't stop posting videos on YouTube. He disabled the comments here for a while because of the YouTube community being mostly terrible and hard and unrewarding to moderate.

Still, what's wrong with a big ego? And how does it affect you? Why is it nasty behaviour? What's with the need to judge this guy? He's obviously doing what he likes. Can you blame him?

The video didn't show up publicly on his channel.

So for me he did actually stop posting videos.

It could be a nude supermodel and it still wouldn't make me watch more videos.

So regurgitating stuff not related to the purpose of the video is useless to me so a waste of time..

@labobo If you're looking for pure info you're better off looking for manuals. The whole point behind YouTube is that people can present information and/or entertainment in their own unique way. Blaming someone for doing exactly that is incredibly backwards. You're looking for direct answers on YouTube and blaming the content providers for not providing them, even though the only one to blame would be yourself for simply looking in the wrong place.

@labobo Rodney is known to drag on at times, like in most reviews where he mentions tons of specs which really don't mean anything to the common PC user/gamer. The people who like his videos took this to heart and mostly see it as a comical thing. His behaviour has spawned in-jokes like "Unfortunately, this product does not include a removable motherboard tray".

Sure, there will be people who will be tearing their hair out for his method of presentation, but you know, that's just how he works.

@Demoras I really like how he presents cases. It's a format and I know what to expect so it's easier for me to ignore the information I do not want at that moment and find things I do like. Yes he is a bit drawn out and sometimes a bit monotone, but still I like it as it is. He is not an unpleasant guy to listen to as compared to a dozen people I here that make 'reviews' on youtube.

@lordneo256 Indeed! I share your opinion :) I really like Rodney's videos as well (I hope it didn't seem the other way around from my comment!) and I personally love his presentation. He's also very consistent, and so I know exactly what to expect. Even his little quirky moments ;)

@labobo Just because the content and/or the content provider are not to your liking, doesn't mean that there's anything wrong with the content or the one who provides it, and so labeling the person himself would be inadequate. Constructive criticism, however, is of course always welcome, since that's what a community is for. But when you don't like the content provided to you, you simply are looking in the wrong place, and need to keep looking.
