Very interesting. I don't understand why your college professor didn't allow the photos; that denial said Grady was a freak, while the photos don't appear that way at all. If anything, your shaved head, while a choice, is just as "freaky." Interesting to me because when I was 13-15 I met and became friends with a "freak" who worked at the famous Hubert's Museum on 42nd St in NYC where I grew up.
Most people don't realize it, but Lobster Boy had an interesting "clause" in his circus contract. See, he could get a piece of "tail" from the Bearded Lady any time he wanted. The problem was, she had "crabs." Lobster Boy was no "shrimp"...
well hey...this is neat. i was the guy that posted the original question/comment on the site. so this is intersting to have you explain it in detail like that. thanks carly for doign this. very cool.
That photo is like a Rorschach test. I can see how, if one approaches it from a point of view that sees abnormal physical characteristics negatively, as deformities to be pitied, then the contrast with your perfect normal body tends to accentuate that negativity. But when I look at it without an initial commitment to the idea that such abnormal characteristics are bad, then it does seem to be celebrating them rather than mocking them. I can imagine someone developing a lobster-hand fetish.

@SGJunit And why not? Life can be just as normal missing a few toes and fingers.

Hey wattup, found your video because I was looking for images related to this disease - one of many i am studying in med school.
Split Hand Deformity is an Autosomal Dominant disorder.
It has what clinicians call "variable penetrance", and it also has variable expression.
Variable expression means that heterozygous affected patients can have differing severities or physical outcomes.
Variable penetrance means that an affected patient may or may not show ANY signs at all, but still be carrier

Who gives a shit about your hair? Lobsters are the subject, not your lame ass review of yourself.
