The best description I can give you as to what radiohead are is this. They are the gold of dawn and dusk. They are the winter of our life looking back at the spring of our lives with a warm smile. In a world that promises us nothing but death they are a reminder of the beauty between conception and death. That may not make much sense to most of you who are not radiohead fans but for those of us who are fans all you need to do is close your eyes and feel and you'll know what I talking about.

@Nalc77 I definitely have to agree, sometimes I can't make out the words Thom is saying BUT, the power and the beauty of it is when I CAN FEEL what he is saying. It really does take you back with every listen. Timeless music here. I only dislike ONE song from their entire Library and that's because I felt like it didnt really fit them. and that song is Anyone Can Play Guitar. too Nirvana esque for me and my tastes.

I don't care if they are pop or not, they are the most innovative band of this time. And they actually are one of the few bands that I think will live the ravages of time! Does anyone know if they will tour soon? Their website shows nothing, only some concerts in America in the beginning of 2010, but nothing even close to Europe...

If you classify a band as being a "pop" band based on how many records they sell AC/DC would be one of the biggest "pop" bands of all time.

But i guess it just comes down to how you personally define the "pop" genre. we can all agree radiohead is amazing

Right so what we have here is a problem over the use of the word 'Pop' as a genre classification (refering to shit bands e.g. pussy whore dolls, Britney etc) as opposed to an ammount of people who like one thing making it popular... Radiohead are a popular band but they sure arnt pop... hope that clears that shit up.

I'm pretty sure they are considered pop because it was popular in Europe, not pop by American standards at that time, though I am only speaking through bits and pieces of things i have heard. particularly a song by Dan Le Sac "Thou Shalt Always Kill" which came up on the low end of British charts. Calling out trends of British pop culture. Saying Radiohead as "just a band," and (was) "the next big thing". Along with some other pretty decent artists. To which i find his philosophy flawed.

Radiohead isn't straight trough rock no, it is rock with some electronic, I like them the most on The bends and Pablo honey and Ok Computer, the electro thing wasn't really good, I hope they will soon start again with making pure rock songs...!:D

Yeah I agree they're not pure rock simply because they're so many other things aswell. Their the best band in the world atm, but I have to disagree about your comment on the electronic side, I think some of their best stuff is from Kid A and Amnesiac, on Ok Computer they combined electronic with rock so well, they're just the best. Cant wait for the new album, hopefully it's another Ok Computer.
