For me Win Me is the best operating system Microsoft ever created! Why? Because of regural crashes it had. Because I did not have money for repairs, I was fixing it myself and at the same time I learning how computer works and gained precious experience with the computers! @SBredes same here bsods here and there and its a fine working windows me computer (still working) and the reason it crashed is very easy to explain: it rain off of the windows 98 engine so it cant support multiple USB ports working at the same time so thats a reason it would bsod but personaly i am a supporter of Windows ME
Windows ME wasn't really such a bad operating system as people think, we used ME for 10 years, we had no problems (only BSOD once in a while, it didn't bother us) and it was really quick!

So much hatred for Windows Millennium Edition. I had it for a few years and it did crash from time to time, but overall, I managed to keep it stable. When we upgraded to Windows XPerience I was annoyed that it was not compatible with most of my older software. Now I run a dual-boot system with both operating systems and I find it to be the perfect PC.
The worst thing about this was the Web desktop enabled by default. That and Norton Antivirus were the #1 reasons for people having their WinME computer serviced.

@TheKyGuy I remember getting my first desktop computer that came pre-installed with Windows ME. I had a bucketload of problems with it. A few weeks after my dad got himself a laptop with XP on it and I never felt more jealous in my life.
My latest 478 motherboard from Elitegroup, I tried Win 98 and XP and it gave me numerous problems, like loading up to STARTUP in XP and stopping, terminal screen freeze, Also having a boot take a number of minutes, this with the board loaded with 2+ Ghz and 1GB SDRAM, and it's old, dating to 2003. WinME should work with support for Pentium 4, I had ME run on my Acer 4710 which is DualCore Centrino! with 2GB of DDR2, so it can be versatile
I got a comment about MS DOS, and I'm no big fan of that, I used APPLE DOS to be quite honest, but I got WinME on my new computer and still use it today since it makes a FAT/32 format driver friendly and ready to swap in any new OLD STOCK motherboard where Win 9x works. Sure Windows 7 is nice, and Vista ain't bad for me, so far. BUT for a small space, older system, Win9x is still the preference and ME has the most MMX friendly additions, BOTTOM LINE
@Ishcoa You need a 'rootkit'. ME works, ask anyone like me who bought there computer with a clean copy, don't upgrade with it, install a new fresh OEM copy of WinME and it should do fine. A used copy I had was on a Compaq and that worked EVEN after virus infection, because I had tools to run for cleaning the Virus

@blakjak1995 Sorry to disappoint macs can right click. They've been right clicking for many years they just haven't had an officail mouse with right click button. macs have. Most of the mac os's have a right click function.

@blakjak1995 Actually, If you knew a little bit about the world of technology, you would know that it is possible to right click on a Mac. Also, Apple is making progress towards gaming on their devices. An iMac is very well capable of running COD Black Ops on it. That being said, keep your PC and Windows 7 to yourself, we sure don't want it.

@blakjak1995 Actually,to contradict you statement,I use both Windows and Mac and Mac has had a right click for a long time and I'm also contradicting your statement about Mac gaming and it's speed.If you want to run Windows games on a mac, just use Boot Camp and if you want something better than a PC at gaming,just get a high end Mac Pro.I will agree with you about Macintosh being overpriced,that's very true.

if you think about it though, and read up on it, belive it or not microsoft had already made xp before they made me,2000 they wanted an operating system in between 98 and xp. so i recken that microsoft had rushed me and 2000 so they could get it sold then they could relase xp.

Oh, God, I remember having Windows ME. It was absolutely terrible. I had to suffer using that while everyone else had Windows XP.
I remember the frequent crashes, the instability and the incompatibility with certain software.

@TheKyGuy I remember getting my first desktop computer that came pre-installed with Windows ME. I had a bucketload of problems with it. A few weeks after my dad got himself a laptop with XP on it and I never felt more jealous in my life.

My latest 478 motherboard from Elitegroup, I tried Win 98 and XP and it gave me numerous problems, like loading up to STARTUP in XP and stopping, terminal screen freeze, Also having a boot take a number of minutes, this with the board loaded with 2+ Ghz and 1GB SDRAM, and it's old, dating to 2003. WinME should work with support for Pentium 4, I had ME run on my Acer 4710 which is DualCore Centrino! with 2GB of DDR2, so it can be versatile

I got a comment about MS DOS, and I'm no big fan of that, I used APPLE DOS to be quite honest, but I got WinME on my new computer and still use it today since it makes a FAT/32 format driver friendly and ready to swap in any new OLD STOCK motherboard where Win 9x works. Sure Windows 7 is nice, and Vista ain't bad for me, so far. BUT for a small space, older system, Win9x is still the preference and ME has the most MMX friendly additions, BOTTOM LINE

You don't need a kit to hit your PC with a hammer to get an error, all you need to do is install Windows ME.

@Ishcoa You need a 'rootkit'. ME works, ask anyone like me who bought there computer with a clean copy, don't upgrade with it, install a new fresh OEM copy of WinME and it should do fine. A used copy I had was on a Compaq and that worked EVEN after virus infection, because I had tools to run for cleaning the Virus
