These bears are so overpopulated in some areas in Alaska (like the one I hunt in) that they have decimated the local caribou population, and not a single moose calf was seen in 10 days. The day I left the camp, we were spotting 5 bears simultaneously. I have great respect for bears, they're beautiful creatures but when they start tearing my camp apart and charging my little sister I draw the line.

The difference is that bears don't owe their life to the fact that humans eat meat and developed an industry to produce meat. Cows. chicken, pigs, dogs, sheep or lambs owe their life to the fact that we are carnivores. when a bear can't find food (moose, deer) it will either move to an area where it will find food or it will start eating up hunters. Either way the nature regulates itself.

Okay, here goes. I hunt, and I won't lie, I do enjoy it. Theres an extreme adrenaline rush when you are stalking an animal. For me, more important is the time enjoyed in the outdoors, with people you enjoy visiting with. I have been on many hunts where nothing was taken, but still viewed as a great hunt. And, yes, I eat what I shoot. Antlers, heads, etc. are impressive, but hard to cook them enough to taste real good.
I hope this bear did not die for nothing. I hope all parts were utilized. I have no objection to hunting as long as it is for food and not just a trophy. Did this bear go into the freezer? How do you cook bear meat? I know you have to watch out for tricanosis is wild meat and it has to be well cooked. What does bear taste like? Is it very gamey? Was the hide utilized and tanned?

Yes here we eat bear meat, as long as its not a dump bear the meat can be pretty good. As a hunter you should be proud of your skill and ability. It looked to me like there werent many shots in that bear; meaning it was a quick and clean shot. So congrats to him. I have no problems with takin a picture with your animal, especially when you put in so much time, money and effort. As for keeping the antlers, thats perfectly normal too. Some could say your commemorating the animals life.

I hunt bears, with coonhounds, mainly with walkers. I hunt in Asheville, North Carolina; U.P. of Michigan in Iron River; and Elk River, Idaho.

These bears are so overpopulated in some areas in Alaska (like the one I hunt in) that they have decimated the local caribou population, and not a single moose calf was seen in 10 days. The day I left the camp, we were spotting 5 bears simultaneously. I have great respect for bears, they're beautiful creatures but when they start tearing my camp apart and charging my little sister I draw the line.

Cows. chicken, pigs, dogs, sheep or lambs owe their life to the fact that we are carnivores. Okay, here goes. I hunt, and I won't lie, I do enjoy it. Theres an extreme adrenaline rush when you are stalking an animal. For me, more important is the time enjoyed in the outdoors, with people you enjoy visiting with. I have been on many hunts where nothing was taken, but still viewed as a great hunt. And, yes, I eat what I shoot. Antlers, heads, etc. are impressive, but hard to cook them enough to taste real good.

Yes here we eat bear meat, as long as its not a dump bear the meat can be pretty good. As a hunter you should be proud of your skill and ability. It looked to me like there werent many shots in that bear; meaning it was a quick and clean shot. So congrats to him. I have no problems with takin a picture with your animal, especially when you put in so much time, money and effort. As for keeping the antlers, thats perfectly normal too. Some could say your commemorating the animals life.

These hunters should face bears 1 to 1 if they really want to hunt. Be fair and fight like real men. You are allowed knives (bear claws and teeth) but nothing else. See if you can win that way.

I hunt bears, with coonhounds, mainly with walkers. I hunt in Asheville, North Carolina; U.P. of Michigan in Iron River; and Elk River, Idaho.
People saying it's not a sport, maybe it's not here. But there's and lot more to it than showed. Besides baiting, and if you hunt with coonhounds that cost about 15,000. It's one of the most expensive sports. Kind of like shooting a polar is $40,000. It's a sport!

Humans arrogantly overpopulating and poluting the planet will cause the demise of these creatures, not sport hunting. Poaching is another story, but I assume this was a legit hunt or it wouldn't be on the youtube.

I totally believe in the right to hunt but only hunt what you can eat, like dear ect ect or hunt to control pests.
There is no point in hunting for trophy's, it serves no purpose other than to satisfy one's hunting instinct.
One could have a fantastic day's hunting without killing a bear, you could shoot something that would feed you.
I've had some of the best days of my life where i set out hunting but shot nothing, just tracking game and being out in nature was enough.

And nothing wrong with using the hide either.
I'm not troubled by hunters using what they've shot, i just get a bit upset to think people shoot bears and other animals for no reason other than just to kill it.
Controlling the Bear population is also fine in my eyes, as long as the Bear population is monitored so you don't get over kill.

i agree, but i also believe in a situation where it would call for you to survive to gain warmth or to feed yourself. you have all the right to survive, but killing bears for nothing is poaching and people who choose to kill big game like bears out of nothing but fun, need to be arrested.

Human's are preditor's, although we often fall prey to the grizzly, black bear species. Are you saying that you would starve your childeren freeze in the mountain's, let your kids freeze or your wife, because Bears have no natural predator other than human being's? That is what you are implying.
