Ferroseed only had 22 speed so 95% of the time he's getting 150 base power out of Gyro Ball. Add stab and mediocre attack and you've got okay damage. Speed-hindering nature helps nothing whatsoever on Murkrow except for losing out against opposing Murkrows.

@aslowfatkid onyx is the actual mineral's name, no pokemon is named like that. maybe digimon does like onyx-mon and flame-mon, but pokemon's names are always altered of an actual thing, AKA then squirtle would be turtle, but it's squirt (water property) + turtle (animal), as there are some execptions like golem, but in japenese the sound rolling is "gorongoron". Anyhow, 95% of pokemon names are a combination of words and golem and alakazam are cool names but onyx is just a rock :P

There is a reason to not run a -speed nature on Murkrow. If Murkrow comes against someone elses priority move the faster poke goes first. Opponent's priority moves are probably a little more common than gyro ball.
