@stevef095 hahahahaha, no, thats the kind of sound most pianos, no matter how good the quality, make at that pitch because the sound is so deep, it almost doesnt really register as a separate note to those around it, ands sounds really strange
Very many orientals are fantastically gifted in music. Much more so that any other race. And that goes for science and math, too. It's a combination of genes and education.
Of course this is amazing but has the poor child had any sort of normal childhood?I mean, how many hours a day do you have to practice to pay like this and what's the rush?
I am sure there are many 'pushy' parents of precocious parents in America! A chinese American mother recently wrote a book about how she had pushed her daughter to practice many hours a day in order to get into the Juliard School. The fact is, though, that however early a musician starts learning, everyone has their peak and what difference does it make if they reach it at 10 or 20, except that they may miss out on childhood...
@22feochadan I'm 14, spent half a year, and still have to read the notes to be able to play it crappily and with a LOT of wrong notes. Off tempo too lolol.
Pretty amazing though I prefer the Kristhyan Benitez,. At 10, she can play it perfectly, and someone can tell her exactly what expression to give it. But at 10, it's simply impossible for her to have had the life experience to understand the piece.
Yuja Wang. You can find many other videos of her on YouTube, including some which appear to be from the same recital as this one. Check out the user whokowns.

@jomc20 its yuja wang, the concert pianist (20-something years old now).
she said in an interview that she chose to take up music and her parents merely supported her. so i guess there are exceptions
stevef095 5 months ago
@stevef095 yes but she was lying her parents took her to a teacher when she was 4 so she never just said she would like to take up music

whoa - this kid is AWESOME! I've heard full-grown mature pianists make hash of this piece. She has it down technically and makes it sing. Brava!

Well, no wonder: she's YUJA WANG. Compare with watch?v=TkoO-IOsaPE
If you don't know her, just watch these two videos to get an update about what she's doing now... watch?v=W2xwNfpmWfM or watch?v=U8JR94Ef5n8
