@pump35 that's what i mean - for all his being a liability 'unpredictable moods' and all that, he was just frustrated and got pissed - while the others collectively tried to shove columbia up their noses and pretended everything was ok. he said his pet hates were recording, rehearsing and touring, only because that's all they ever did - if they'd taken a break somewhere in the late 70s, things might have been different. but if everyone else was up their own arse with 'stuff', he was on his own
@keef71 Quite. I dare say if the band around the mid 80's had been clean and sober, there may have been dialogue between Alan and Francis and a compromise may have been found.
as the old saying goes.............if if's and and's were pots and pans.etc etc!
Picked up on these guys when I was stationed in Holland during the late 70's from Avro's top pop. Burned up the album in no time. Nice to know that rock and roll changes....BUT stays the same. FOREVER!!
Totally agree 1942JA it is still hard to believe that this track was the quo's lowest chart success at the time. Easily deserved to get higher. Bloody Margerita time done better. i no i kant spel it too!
Great tune. Most diehard Quofans don´t like the album ("If you can´t stand the heat") it came from very much because they believe it's overproduced (just as the "Rockin'all over the world"album). Nevertheless it had some good songs on it like "Again and again" , "Long legged Linda" and this one (my fav from this album. Francis with a beard, looks a bit strange and so is a laughing John Coghlan!!!
I also love the "Never too late" album. It's an album not often mentioned (don't know why), the last one with the original Quo line-up playing. In fact I like every song on it (especially Take me away, Long ago and Riverside!!!).
I cant belive this got to no 36 in the UK charts shoulda been in the top 5 at least, WHAT A LIBERTY, and status quo have been the best band ever from 1970 - the present time
no-one's talking about how they're miming? Listen to the original song... This is not a live version!
