Hi whoever u guys r when I saw what u saw on youtube I was horrified, I love horses and I don't want any harm to happen to them. Here in AUS we mostly kill the brumbies, the BLM to my knowledge just does round-ups, but anyone who causes harm, pain or suffering to a horse or horses decide a great deal of punishment. A big, bad punishment.
I could hear you crying in the video, which of course made me want to cry, be strong you are helping everyone see what crap the horses have to put up with and raising the awareness to our government
@sallnjack Thank you. Watching that young horse alone, gazing down the funnel at his freshly rounded up family, and seeing the helicopter come back and press him like that really got to me. However, I really wish my crying wasn't on this video, but that is what happened. It is long past time for BLM to take a definitive stand against helicopter abuse. I'm pressing for a standard of no closer than 50 feet unless it's to save horses' lives, i.e. push them away from a ledge or cliff.
@Militarylove2012 Yes, several people wanted to adopt him/her. No way to trace him. I have discussed with BLM and Sue Cattoor (roundup contractor) the fact that if they would be sure to identify these horses that we publicize, they will get homes; that people see them and want them. My suggestions have been ignored. BLM claims to want to find wild horses good homes, but they do not comply with simple requests that would further this aim with little to no expense. Words don't match actions.

Good job next time you should just kill the horse with the blades! BLM is the worst type of animal abusers! This stupid contractor thinks its ok to get tht close to a horse is greatly mistaken and should be fine or sent to jail for animal abuse! He is really endangering the horse's life with the blades being that close...... WAKE UP BLM!
In this instance, it doesn't matter if you're FOR or AGAINST the roundups, the barbaric method they're using is cruel, wrong and illegal. These are our tax dollars at work? Seriously?
In the words of Stephen king (Green Mile) "you cant fry a man twice..." but this is some what of a false statement... you can fry a man more than once in hell... thats where these bastards are going...
NOTHING as COLD as a BLM Whore Cowboy ! He Bitch`s about his Tax`s & take`s a check from the Gov. w/ a Big SMILe on his welfare ass face .How much gas did it take big guy to take this kid,WHO Has MOre gut`s than you do PRICK ! Long Live Real Calif. Horsemen...Hackamore People ,Spanish School of Old Calif.
Thank you for your comment. Horses and burros are actually classified as "returned natives." They are also the only wildlife species with a federal Act passed by a unanimous congress to protect them. No species, native or not, should be "managed" in the bumbling, abusive way these are.
We are not proposing no management at all. Note: 72 percent of remaining herds are below genetic viability. This spells extinction if roundups continue.
A "tamarisk" is a shrub, and a species of beetle. ??
You folks do know that the only horse spp native to N America died off at the end of the Pleistocene.. Horse, burro, cattle, etc can all be classified as invasive spp. People that see a difference between a Horse(cute, cuddley, big eyes) and a Tamarisk are biased and just as wrong as 'the evil helicopter pilot' at least taking some kind of management stand.
No management of an introduced species is just bad ecology.
This is what mustangs need to evolve into. Too bad he wasn't left in the wild to pass his genes on. Imagine how hard it would be to round up these animals if they just flat refused to move like this one did. This is the smartest mustang I've ever seen.
This is just sicking. Whenever I see videos on the BLM it almost always reminds me of James Cameron's Avatar when the Navy sacked the island of Pandora for their own monetary gain. It goes to show how low society can go.
There is no excuse for what he did and it was a colt, for christ sake! He could have seriously injured that horse. You can see the horse is terrifed. I didn't really hear about the roundups until the end of last year (I can't believe it's been going on for years and I didn't know) and I am really pissed. I would love to be invloved but live on the other side of the U.S. My support goes out to you though and I hope everything is done to stop this.
For those who care and will act! What this helicopter pilot is doing is a CRIME (Animal cruelty - you can not strike and animal like this) and a violation of F.A.A. flight rules and regulations!!!! Call the F.A.A. and report him, use this video has your proof, he WILL LOSE HIS LICENSE! He is NOT the only pilot to be doing this, find other videos and report those pilots as well!
Then notify your Congressional members and tell them to pass S.1579 and STOP THIS ILLEGAL and CRUEL ACTIVITIES
This is such a disgusting display of cruelty, brutality driven by greed and corruption.
What kind of evil heart could inflict this kind of terror and hell upon another living sentient being... I am appalled at our Govt and really have a sickened taste in my mouth for the BLM. They are the Horse Nazi's!
Omg that is so sad, he looks so broken. He knew what whas happening and what the helicopter wanted him to do, and he tried standing his ground. He looked so sad that he lost his family, he just kind of gave up. I cried my eyes out watching this poor horses life fall to ruins around him. So so heartbreaking
I AM REALLYSAD AND EXCUSE MY LANG. BASTARDS NEED TO DO THIS AND FEEL IT'S NESSESARY FOR THIS ACT OF UN KINDNESS. GOD HELP THESE PEOPLE. THEY ARE PEEPS THAT DON'T RESPECT GODS CREATURES AND MOST LIKLY DO NOT RESPECT HUMAN LIFE EITHER. AND I WAS CRYING WITH U AND YES STOP THIS MADNESS!!
That helicopter pilot obviously reacted out of anger and impatience. No excuse for what he did - that could have broken the horse's leg easily. What a total scumbag - he actually starts out okay getting the horse into the trap chute. There is no reason to change tactics other than his own despicable lack of respect for the horse.
@Ce2911 Yeah, the pilot was ticked off because the horse didn't "cooperate," so he childishly endangered the horse, the helicopter and anyone that might have been near-by if he'd lost control of that chopper.
Elyse! Please be sure this gets to New York ASPCA lawyers for the case, pronto!
(Please see my facebook string of comments.) Anne~ Marie Pinter agrees that it should be sent Fed-x, and that its strong animal abuse evidence. I hope you have already shared it to the ASPCA. Chrystie Davis has some comments also.
This just makes me sick! Clearly it is the illegal over driving of an animal and terrorizing abuse! The lawyers in NY must see this! Tragedy! I am praying you have sent it already!
That little guy is already bombproof. I hope someone adopted him or will shortly adopt him.
Frankly, I think the horse was a lot less freaked about the whole thing than the observer.
Not wishing to be unkind, but get a grip, lady. The horse WAS NOT HARMED. Clearly he's just FINE.

so maybe the pilot was a little over the top.
helicopter used to get many horses safely moved - OK
helicopter to move one scared young tired horse - not the best idea
two or three people on mounts should have had an easier time moving the young horse in my opinion
