One of my great-great uncles was a spiritualist photographer in the late 1800's.I didn't learn about this till a family reunion a few years ago.Apparently he was a bit of a black sheep among our Texas baptist family(he's listed as a "spiritist" photographer in the "official" family history). It also says that he would go to seances with camera in tow to try to capture whatever images he could.Though none of his work is known to survive, what is strange about this to me is that I am a spiritualist!
Very impressive photography, didn't know it even existed. I have to admit I did giggle at the pic with the ladies head near the gentlmens crotch. Many of these pics are beautiful...
I think T.G. Hamilton's photo's deserve a place in this video, with the cotton spewing out of their mouths and ears to simulate ectoplasm, it's as funny as these photo's that you have found. It just goes to show that people are all alike no matter what year it is. Thanks for sharing, I hadn't seen these before.
This is funny how the ghost would get dressed with veil on head, makeup on and hair do, stand in the right spot at the right moment for the photo, one had HIS head in the mans lap, what is that all about? that is a new meaning to head job and the ladies head in the drinking glass LMAO I understand....Jack Daniels! Cool Stuff The ladies head coming from the cigarette...Does that mean he smoked her? The Good Times.

What I see is a woman, she's young, & her hair is up in a bun-style with a thick strand of hair in a curl that is hanging down in front of her ear. Let me know if this looks more like it...than a man with a mustache. TY :0)
hi nice video but i think some other photo that in video is not real coz at this new reality and modern history will do that in a minute use computer and adobe sorry for bad comment but some pics is good thank you
Some wonderful imagery there! Given how photographic techniques have advanced since then,it's pretty amazing how impressive these images are. Also,I admire the Victorian "poste mortem" photos. They show how the Victorians didn't shy away from,or become squeamish by the idea of death, unlike we seem to be today.
I hate to break it to you, but most of these are staged. I've been reading many ghost books, when I came upon many of the pictures in your video and the book said they were staged. Some are real though
"2:00" seems to me like she is someone very cultured or maybe a teacher, the images behind her do not all look from her time or area. Or maybe she was someone who had many spirits....?
My favorite is "3:13", but did the girl really die or was it all for the photo?
@EVPClassABC The funny thing is. Some of these were taken or done back in the early 1900's and are better than some of the fakers trying it on today. An interesting look into past photography & the Phsychy of the time.
Some just look like double exposure but I don't know if they had that problem with the ealry camrea back then. most are bleached but a few are believable! Whoever made these is truly remarkable considering the technology of the early 20th century is nothing compared to todays, and the fake ghost pictures we see today are more obvious than some of these.
Sorry to be the bringer of bad news, but i can point out that some of these are faked by useing bleach or are just artistic. Good shots anywase, who ever made these really have a good flare to there work.
No doubt! Manual darkroom work and negative exposure is a chore. But the overall result was really beautiful at times. Sorry I didn't send you these, I thought you were on my list.
Dont hit me if this is dead wrong, but some at the end look like the object moved, i read somewhere back then the frames were slow and they had to sit dead still to be focused on clearly or theyd blur, i think the ones toward the end were just moving when it was taking.
Hi from Annie at EVP INVESTIGATIONS. It's interesting how they wanted to remember they loved ones pasted. I have sent you a little poem and some ghost photos you may relate too.
u said that u were there in some vid... how old r u?? the Queen Mary was popular in the Early 1900's... these pics r creepy.. if u just pause on one and observe the sprit, look at its face and everything else...its kool
I think the ectoplasm and seance pictures in the other video are creepier, maybe because they are less artistic and the subjects of the portraits in this one are just innocent people that were duped hoping to catch a glimpse of a loved one. But thanks for checking it out ;-)
OH but now a days we can catch the real deal. Those like yourself and a several others here on you tube kick butt at getting legit evidence. I think because we use such true to life high tech we can capture more then what our eyes can see and our ears can hear..great video! Times have sure changed huh? :) Take care!
I love Victorian photography! My friend Mare and I watched these together some of them may be real but my guess was not. It was a fun debate LOL. I hope all is well with you and your kids. Hugs!
Yes - they (photographers) learn to double expose a film slide and everyone went wild trying to deceive and make money off of people. Not one that I've investigated has turned out ligit yet. :(
In a way it reminds me of today's preoccupation with ghost TV - the way everything supposedly cycles through every few generations. Maybe now is the next era of occultism.

Wow, what a fantastic collection! You are so lucky to have these photos! Some of them are so delicatly created... very special, indeed.
1:39 looks like it might be a post mortem photo, with a "spirit" added behind him. Looks like maybe his sister.
2:54 is lovely & sweet.
3:04 & 3:15 beautiful pieces of art!
Thanks so much for sharing these. (^_^)
