If it means anything to you, I would be considered a person living with AIDS if I were a resident of Africa. Why? Because I tested positive on three different rapid HIV tests and have what they deem to be an "opportunistic infection" (a common yeast infection). Yet here in Canada I am not considered a person with HIV (let alone be considered to have AIDS) because my elisa/western blots have come back negative two times in a row.
The problem is malnutrition, access to clean water and proper housing, not specifically HIV. Infact the only way of confirming an Aids diagnosis in Africa is by using two rapid HIV tests and the person having an "opportunistic infection". BTW all infections are opportunistic by virtue of them being what they are-infections! So "opportunistic infection" is just AIDS rhetoric!

If it means anything to you, I would be considered a person living with AIDS if I were a resident of Africa. Why? Because I tested positive on three different rapid HIV tests and have what they deem to be an "opportunistic infection" (a common yeast infection). Yet here in Canada I am not considered a person with HIV (let alone be considered to have AIDS) because my elisa/western blots have come back negative two times in a row.

Infact the only way of confirming an Aids diagnosis in Africa is by using two rapid HIV tests and the person having an "opportunistic infection". Mexican immigrants generate over 9 dollars of revenue for every 1 dollar in Social Services . Second , Americans may donate privately as they wish , however as a noation we rank last in ALL industrialized nations in foreign aid . It is .05 or 1 in every 200 dollars of collected tax revenue .

The Department of Defense is at 41% of our total budget after the latest Obama increases ! That doesn't account for the entire cost of the military because there are also programs in our "Social Services" that pay for veterans treatment for example . The actual cost of our military exceeds 50% of all collected revenue nationally ! Any nation that does this will starve itself .

@groterichard Actually that is way off. In Europe France spends the greatest percentage on the military of anyone and it is 25% of their budget. Even at 25% it has significantly damaged their economy. They rank number 2 in the world in percentage of their bydget on the military. USA ranks number 1 at 50% or more, even though officially we only spend 40%. We are literally killing ourselves with military overspending.

Culturally Africans do have more sex as it is ok to have more than one wife in most parts of Africa, this does not help the epidemic.
