Korg is a funny company, recycling those same old waveforms model after model. That last overdriven guitar chord patch, just before the video ends? I remember playing it on the damn X3, and that came out in 1993!! The Karma was released in 2001...that's a mind-boggling 13 years, lol.

I dig the sounds, but is it just me or does every other song sound like porn music from various eras in time, either that or sonic. I think one of the songs actually sounds like porn music FOR sonic. When I hear it I can't help but thinking of tails getting defiled by that blue hedgehog. I know I know... disturbing.

@Rentalgreenspy The magic of the karma isnt the sounds..it is the algorithms behind it. "KARMA was developed as a system to generate complex musical phrases and passages in realtime to expand the capabilities of a single performer." so yes, it can sound typical and cheesy... mostly because I think that the algorithms are being over used. Look it up on wikipedia.

@Space4Keys Oasys is like 689 karmas together + some alien systems.

the oasys is if you have 8k to drop on a board. get the m3. it has karma 2 on it. and it is 2500 new for the 88 key. a good used karma goes for about 600-700. i got mine used for 600.

I never really got the Karma. A guy I worked for bought one and want me to see what I could get out of it... Just seemed like an overly complicated accompaniment keyboard. I could never actually compose any proper music with it.

What is the diferrence of Korg Karma and Triton TR ?

TR has 1 Ins FX and 2 Master FX, KARMA has 5 Ins FX and 2 Master ;)

the karma engine for one. also you can do more effects on it. the sounds are similar.  also there is the expansion slots for exb boards.

I think I would find that very annoying. It's the one thing that makes me so ambivalent when considering buying one of these beasts.
