Buttons was ripper master on the single fin, - the late 70's was when it happened. Cheyne Horan, basic, but nothing extraordinary. Buttons - extraordinary surfing. The vids are here.

Single fins re-visited... Back in the later 70's when I started surfing-my first board was a 7'4" winged swallow single fin! Kinda gunny n fast.

For 5-6 foot hollow surf I would take a single fin-hands down. Why? Well, I borrowed my bros old gunny 6'9" single winged rounded pin single fin-which handled like a dream in perfect/hollow beach breaks so of santa cruz.single fins can be AWSUM!
