@pballa321123 not really mate. when in chapter 2 u go to the hospital or whatever it is you can see a lot of things suggesting that isaac left already: the dead tripod, dead slashers, the closed airlock etc. etc.

So it is like it started before dead space 2, but it is going on at the same time as the beginning of dead space 2.

@FoReVeRoO I had the same problem as you. Just put in Disc 1 (I don't think it matters) and start a new game, and it will let you choose to play ''Dead Space 2'' or ''Severed''. Choose ''Severed'' and select a difficulty and you got it.

As Weller and Lexine wait for Nate to return, they're attacked by Necromorphs. Lexine goes into the ship to start it, while Weller defends it. Several dead necro's later, Weller hears someone shooting. To his surprise, it's Nate. Nate's badly injured (He lost his right arm to The Spider). As the trio escape, they recieve a call from the USG Kellion. Lexine tries to warn, them, but cannot contact them. After a few credits, A necro' is shown attacking lexine. The necro' is presumably Nate.

@Samuraislash600 the images in the creators' (exmple isaac) heads create a beacon for the infectors to follow so when the marker was created the demensia and illusions came back, which means the people killed themselves, so the infectors aka stingray things come in and infect.
