Wow! It brings memory to the time I was in Southern California! Indeed, this is the best news opening, I think. I remember that they also play a nice long one during after the news is ended. If somebody has it, can you please post it?

This was and still is my favourite open from any news station in the United States. KLTA was a part of my childhood, and still is part of my life to this day.

Indeed dingding is right, this was Ron Boltz, and that was probably the best news open KTLA ever had. I like to think the plane landing at LAX was a tip of the cap to Hal. RIP, Hal.

Ron Boltz was on KTVU up to Labor Day 2006 when KTVU went HD. He stopped annoucing for KTVU on Labor Day 2006
