  • Thank God the Old 1980's and 1990's KTLA logo is back

  • Bong!

  • And now the booth announcer, Ron Boltz, has recently passed on.

  • When did KTVU's and KTLA's Ron Boltz passed on

  • I'm sorry. I don't live near LA, so i wasn't really sure.

  • stu, larry & hal Have passed. :o(

5 news at ten was my dads fave. I remember them all.

  • that's like the ITN News at Ten titles (1988-1992) in United Kingdom

  • youtube(DOT)com/watch?v=w_HAo2aBu5c&feature=related

This explains what happened. I hope you're happy.

  • Wow! It brings memory to the time I was in Southern California! Indeed, this is the best news opening, I think. I remember that they also play a nice long one during after the news is ended. If somebody has it, can you please post it?

  • This was and still is my favourite open from any news station in the United States. KLTA was a part of my childhood, and still is part of my life to this day.

  • Forgive me, I should also say RIP Larry.

  • Indeed dingding is right, this was Ron Boltz, and that was probably the best news open KTLA ever had. I like to think the plane landing at LAX was a tip of the cap to Hal. RIP, Hal.

  • Ron Boltz was on KTVU up to Labor Day 2006 when KTVU went HD. He stopped annoucing for KTVU on Labor Day 2006

  • Ron Boltz was the best annoucer for KTLA and KTVU because he dealt with California's oldest anchors Richmond and Fishman

  • Hal Fishman Rest In Peace. Whoever KTLA chooses to take your chair at ten at night will be someone who will have your integrity and belief in quality journalism.

  • This should be one of the more frequented clips today. Peace to Hal Fishman.

  • KMSP in the 1980's used the KTLA signature

  • Ron Boltz is the annouced here

  • Oh, Hal Fishman brings back memories for many! Remember Jann Carl? She later joined "ET" not long after this aired.

  • The announcer is the same as the one on KTVU in SF until 2000 when Scott Chapin took over the duties full time as the announcer.

  • his name is Larry Van Nuys, he works at KNX radio in LA now.

  • I noticed this annoucer does KTVU News at 10 back in the 90's in this clip

  • I remember this classic open, it was before the time when Tribune began making some real screwball decisions.

  • They used an variation of their 1982 theme.
