im really into both paintball, and airsoft, but im more into airsoft, and recently got back into it. would paintball pads work as effectively withh airsoft, because generally paintball parts, and objects are larger, and i didnt want to fumble around with pads with the small details of airsoft
Yeah, they would probably work. Just make sure you can kneel and crouch in them for several minutes without it getting uncomfortable. When you are crouched behind a bunker, you wanna worry about the game and not uncomfortable knee pads.
At your size it shouldnt be too hard to get stuff to fit. Medium might be loose on you. See if you can find a friend or someone at the field who has dye pads that size, and ask if they will let you try them on. That is the best way to tell. Mike and I have always had a harder time finding the right size pads. We are both bigger guys. Im 6'2", 200lbs, and pretty much solid muscle. That makes it more difficult to get things to fit. Try to stay small, so that everything will fit you =)
@PHLYEpaintball im looking at the 2011 empire elbow and forearm pads with the build in gloves. im six one/two around 140 punds with a slender frame, what would be a good size? large?
It can be painful to get shot in the neck...specifically the adams apple. There is neck protection that you can buy, but you honestly dont get shot there that often. You wont see any tournament or professional players wearing neck protection.

good question... I used to just use a cup, but now I have come sliders that have a good layer of foam over the crotch area. Most of the time though if you are wearing decent quality paintball pants, they will come with a little protection on that area may it be thicker fabric or padding. We will be doing a video on paintball pants and sliders in the near future.
Oh so true. Thats why it is good to invest in a nice pair of paintball pants with the padded crotch. They are safe, and so much easier on the nuts. Thanks for mentioning the nutslip...its an experience you're best to avoid

how do you guys size up the pads like the elbow pads and knee pads?
KDOG1352 2 years ago
Its a bit of a guessing game. It depends on the brand and how big you are. What pads are you looking at? Whats your size/weight?
PHLYEpaintball 2 years ago
im looking at the dye pads, im about 5'6" and 136lbs. any suggestions?
