His comments about African Americans being tired is also ridiculous. In the end it doesn't matter which minority has suffered the most; the fact the either of the two have even suffered to begin with is atrocious. Having suffered more or less does not negate that such suffering should not ever even happen in the first place, and for anyone to ever think otherwise is a testament to the absolute failures our societies have made of human compassion, logical reasoning, and individual thought.

I find the most frustrating part of this struggle for equal rights under the law, the lack of separation of church/state. One religion's bible should not dictate the rights for all.

Brian said that the state of MA forced the catholic charities to stop doing adoption placements because they refused to place kids with gays. Liar! Catholic charities had been placing kids with gay couples for eight years before they were forced to stop all adoptions by the Catholic church, because the charity refused to discriminate. In the end it doesn't matter which minority has suffered the most; the fact the either of the two have even suffered to begin with is atrocious. Having suffered more or less does not negate that such suffering should not ever even happen in the first place, and for anyone to ever think otherwise is a testament to the absolute failures our societies have made of human compassion, logical reasoning, and individual thought.

If marriage was about giving birth to the next generation, all animals within nature would have a form of marriage. Case in point: you can be married to someone and have sex with another person and have children outside of marriage, or you can simply have sex while not being married and still have children. Sex does not equal marriage or vise versa.

Allowing this to come to a majority vote in the 1st place makes me embarrassed for the US. It's tantamount to saying people with blue eyes can vote that they are superior & deserve special rights vs. people with brown eyes (does this sound familiar?)

The Massachusetts case Brown cites is such a red herring. It had nothing to do with gay marriage whatsoever and was only because the Catholics were using public funds and licensed by the State.
What about the religions that do celebrate same-gender marriage? What about their religious freedom?
