Nice vid mate but if I was fishing under my feet like you were, I'd just freeline a bait. You get a much better fight with no end tackle on. Also, I throw a few freebies in and watch the carp feeding. This way you can target the bigger fish by literally dropping the bait on their noses as they're feeding. Never go larger than a size 10 hook when surface fishing.

I agree it is quite hard to strike at the right piont! :D it took me 11 tries, but in the end i landed a nice 11 lb! on luncheon meat, on a float, but the difference was i was fishing at least 10ft deep :S

@ Fruitloopy you should concentrate on landing the fish rather than holding a camera. You cannot claim to be respectful to the carp by playing it in (on a rod) with one hand. I bet the reason we didn't see you landing the other two carp is because you came to your senses and decided to fish responsibly with two hands. I'm sure the Bailiff would have had something to say if he saw you fannying about with a camera while one of his fish was tied up in a snag! Common sense?

This fishing lake is amazing !! me and 3 friends fished it for 4 hours and caught 15 fish, not bad ? 3 barbel, & carp !! To the person making this video ... you cant even use bread or floating bates at decoy so why make a video about it :S check out my new videos soon ;)

You need to learn how to fish! you never just cut the line, now some fish is swimming around tied to a snag under the water. if the fish goes into a snag you let the line go slack and let the fish swim out.

but i fish matches there and the only reason its banned is that if the fish get used to surface fishing they dont feed on the bottom leading to some rubbish matches. would be interesting to see what weights would come out if you could fish the surface though well over 100 Ib i reckon off most pegs
