This is a stupid commercial. but it's better than the nasty interracial one I saw today. A white woman leading a black man from the bedroom to the garage to show him the sweet crack daddy pimp ride she worked hard selling her snatch to buy him.Take a bow Lexus, you have now jumped the shark in trying to sell your overpriced, lousy hybrid Toyota cars. Anyone who buys a Lexus is an asshole.
@isdfgbsdf ignorance much?? i agree about the other advert you mentioned being horrible but saying'' anyone who buys a lexus is an asshole''?? really.... i personally dont have one but still....
too weird. too steampunk. pretty much anybody who has enough money to buy and lexus does not love films like "the city of lost children", or anything all that quirky. people who opt to buy a lexus, want sex appeal, power, speed, and the illusion of ageless freedom. it's like you're trying to advertise a high-end escort using a picture of her holding up a french fry as moustache. a buyer wants to see performance.
definitely fake. concepts are decided by the ad agencies, approved by the client and given to a director to execute. a director does not go off the farm and shoot something that he comes up with. for a 4A client like lexus, what was decided is the final product. all you needed to do was google walter robot to know it was fake
i see why the killed it, it has nothing to do with the lexus until the last 2 seconds, and informs the viewer more about how a chicken sends morse code to your tv than it does tell you why you should buy a lexus. Also, i don't think it matches any of the previous lexus commercials. Nice concept though, maybe it would go well with some other product in a longer commercial. it just seems that there was an idea with the chicken and a need for a lexus ad, so the 2 were put together w/o any thought
No offense to fans, but I can kind of see where the company might not like the theme. Luxury car company + bootleg-style 1970s-ish motif doesn't seem to really mesh unless they were going to attempt to market to buyers who grew up in the 70s and early 80s. Walter Robot could reuse the video from the entire ad and just paste some other image on the TV at the end. Why didn't they do that?
3.4 million? That's a waste of money even for ads that actually get aired. Just my $2.00.
Woah. This is totally one of my favourite commercials, now. If I saw this on TV, even if I was in the other room, I would want to see what was up... And then, BOOM, Lexus is sprung on me, and I can't get it out of my mind...
Actually, it's great advertising. Just familiar enough but just confusing enough to distract - then when your mind is fozzled in a double bind, they hit you with the Lexus image, which sticka in your brain like a tick in a wino. It's called Distraction Hypnosis. Lexus just wasn't smart enough to get it. Their market is real dumb rich people who are too stupid to hypnotize. Of course, the Vs might be a reference to the great Anarchist movie ;')
Upside down V = sideways lexus logo(sort of) They probably told the company to "incorporate the logo somewhere" but they didn't do it very good(unlike lots of their other adds)
It is actually quite endearing, not a commercial, but a joke on a commercial. It was never an actual commercial, don't you see? And for the record, you don't put an question mark at the end of a statement. Even sandwiched between the exclamation marks, it isn't right by any standard.
Actually !?! could be a clever visual pun for someone in the closet, although the author was too dumb to think of that. Maybe if he dies and comes back as a smart person he'll understand some of these videos ;')

I like this commercial, very basic and creatively gets the message across. It's just not the type of commercial I'd see Lexus using.
