for the 4 litre straight six a supercharger is basically useless unless you believe capa and all their empty claims. Turbo's are infinitel;y better for that engine and hence why ford made xr6t instead of xr6s (holden stupidly made supercharged commodores and they have less power than a NA falcon six)
If it were a V6 than a supercharger might be a better option but being a I6 theres not as much tubing needed and its able to spool up quicker. Btw u do realise that superchargers sap some of the engines power to make them run while turbos just use exhaust gases so they're more efficient in that way
Just glad to see you enjoyed the run. All things in good time. As for some comments about running slicks, it's up to the driver and I love to see how a real street car goes on the track; just like in the old days of the original GT's and GTS's. Give us more vidz mate, ;-)
They're street tyres. Warming them won't do a thing...What I should have done was burn the water off them that I ran through, but didn't realise I ran through at the time. And I'm not interested in street slicks - I believe it's tantamount to cheating...Plus I don't have that sort of cash to burn...
Understandable mate, I have exactually the same car actually. Despite what fpvxr8 says slicks are not road legal and do cost more and if your not really a die hard at the drags dont bother. However I disagree that its cheating, If that was the case you could argue that adding mods like bigger intercooler or exhaust is also cheating. However when qouting times alot of people that have used slicks qoute a 1/4M time with n with out slicks.
And slicks is hell on a stock drivetrain..assuming its stock drivetrain that is...keep and eye on those driveshafts of yours...working at a ford dealer iv seen plenty shit themselves!
@FalconXR6Turbo I'm a Ford fan, I like V8s and would kill to own an XA/XB/XC coupe, but I disagree that Japanese cars aren't "real men's cars". Any wanker with a fat bank account can make a drag monster, but when you look at Japanese touge racing, a 190 horsepower car can eat a 300+ horsepower car if the the car is set up right and the driver has skills. It makes racing so much more interesting when who wins isn't dependant on who's dumped the most money into their car to get the most power
Spot on mate, the 5litre VS's are absolute slugs. they really have nothing on a XR6T, you'd have to either chuck a blower on it or stroke it to come close.
lol
damn!! the traction was shithouse that day by the looks of it

Supercharged is better.
Power delivery much smoother.
In my opinion of course.

14.928 a stock Xr6t would smash it.

Traction control or not the commodore ute had that race won before it started.

Thanks for your comments Mike, but I get the feeling your not into real mens cars...I'm sensing you prefer a little R.I.C.E. Am I right ?

stock xr6t vs modified ute, kinda defeats the purpose. just edit the xr and run rings around what would appear to be a stock xr6 turbo
