@TequilaKG Obviously there is no high mileage Veyron, but there are numerous movies and facts that all serve to the point. Engineers spent 7 years thinking and testing, making sure it's built to last, so far there is no record of Veyron's blown engine, engine stress levels are much lower than TT Camaro's... etc. Watch Megafactories - Veyron if you like. As for original Camaro engines, rock solid, high capacity, "low" power, low revs... would be strange if it doesn't rack up to a million miles.

It was Volkswagen's decision to do it since they own Bugatti. And the car is more about "finding out what they could do" rather than turning a profit. But to Volkswagen, what is a couple million per car? Half a day's work? I can't comment on anything else though, reliability, mods, etc.

keep in mind.. a Mustang Dyno reads lower than a Dynojet. Mustang dyno makes 22% less than a dynojet because they give a reading on how much power it would make on a real road, not just spinning drums like the dynojet.

@hightechcorvette i know 1050hp with a single 88 precision turbos has been done on a LT1. i know it would be better for an LSx but i have history with my LT1 and want to build an LTX that beats most LSX's. people should never forget about the 2nd generation small block chevy(LT1/4)
@TheLTXCamaro 30k wont get you close to 1200rwhp, you're also going to need to get some gearbox work done, stronger differential and driveline work done.
You're better off getting out of an LS motor as they produce more power easier.

@TheLTXCamaro You can definitely break 1000rwhp with an LT1, and it may not be quite as easy to do as an LSx, but it can be done with the right work and enough money. The LT1 block is astoundingly tough. People have made 1200rwhp. People dont realize that the bugatti has a really high top speed but it takes quite a long time and distance to get there. Theres door cars out there that are hitting the bugattis top speed in just a 1/4 mile. Think a bugattis speed is impressive? Look up pro mod drag racing, 0-250mph in 5.9 seconds

@luvscience44 Aerodynamic co-efficiency plays more of a factor than weight does. If there was no air friction, it would only take 200hp or so to get 250mph out of a 3000lbs car. Its the air drag that limits the car.
I wonder whats the minimal budget you could devote to a project like this with the goal of making 1000hp. Id imagine that a good 6.0l LQ series block would be a good start.
The engine is well established, Parts are plentiful enough... Might be a project to look into in the near future.

The LT1 block is astoundingly tough. People have made 1200rwhp. People dont realize that the bugatti has a really high top speed but it takes quite a long time and distance to get there. Theres door cars out there that are hitting the bugattis top speed in just a 1/4 mile. Think a bugattis speed is impressive? Look up pro mod drag racing, 0-250mph in 5.9 seconds

The team thrust SSC car was able to break the sonic speed barrier at 720mph on land. It had over 100,000hp.
