I first saw this episode when I was about 7 or so. I don't know what it was about it, but I never forgot it (it might have been the ghastly punchline at the end). When the dvds came out and I watched the series again, it was truly a blast from the past. Thanks for the memories, guys.

There are at least 5 versions of the origin of this game, none of which has been proved, but the fact is certain that this game appeared in the 19th century, probably in the second half. And the Russian currancy was, is and will be a ruble.

Maybe you didn't know, but you don't have to transport to the 19th century in order to learn something, there are historical and literary sorces that can give a testimony, for example, in the novel by a Russian writer Nikolai Gogol "The hero of our time" (published 1840) the Russian Roulette is already described. But how could such a rude, ignorant and illiterate person like you have possibly known that?

I think the car distraction was so that the audience can never know for sure. Was it a dud? Did one of them turn the chamber and cheat? In the comic, there is no car (they are inside) and they both accuse each other of cheating. The readers never know for sure.

Also in the comic, they start by drawing a card. The each draw aces. Pretty much the same as with the dice.
