  • The cat was funny :) You're our favourite Internet Grandad :D

  • That cat was a hilarious start, well done. :-)

  • Hello. Just to let you know I've sampled a part of this video in a song I've made. Figured I should let you know? If you're interested in hearing it, message me - it's only a brief clip at the start, but still. Cheers for inspiring me.

  • how can people put hate comments on this video????

Are people really that fuckd up.

  • hahaha Peter what the hell was that cat?!

  • you are so adorably cute and silly, you serve as a great loving figure for many who do not have a real grandpa.. thank you..

  • the video intro's are out of community television from the early 90's but the stories are great.

  • Keep up the good work G27! You tell of things that will never appear in a history book. A piece of living history will not be lost thanks to your effort and youtube.

  • what drives someone to post such a crap/worthless comment to such a nice man .. chances are u'll end up a very sad and lonely old man .. feel sorry for you ...

  • doggiepooch123...boy would I love to smash a hammer over your head. I mean full impact baby. WHAMMO! Keep up the good work geriatric1927. Love your videos.

  • The Tlinget and Haida Natives in my neck of this world use an effective technique called "shunning (i.e. ignoring/turning backs on)" rude and undisciplined youth.

  • Perspex is about the same thing as plexiglass.

  • I dont think you 'salvaged' those bits my friend that is stealing government property.

  • I really love to listen your stories and about the war times. My both grandfathers died before I was born so listening you brings me some feelings what I never had before. Also I never met my other grandmother, and the one who was still alive when I was born, died when I was 11 years old.

I really hope to hear more of your stories soon! Thank you very much!

  • aww your so cute i love cute elderly they have a special place in my heart <333 =).

  • haha liked the cat at the start! Still loving your videos Peter...I am waaay behind though, haven't been coming daily like i was before. Erm, what was that (horrendous) music at the start??!!

I hear you like Pink Floyd...have you had a listen to their album, 'Wish You Were Here'?

I think you could appreciate it very much my old friend

  • your so funny i wud love to hear more

  • Will you say that when your parents become 79?

  • You make me feel ill at the fact you spent the time to put in such a load of evil onto this sight as a comment. The man took the effort and I love it, for you it is not your type of thing, but for me and others it is so can twts like you please fuck off because you realy piss me off!

  • Hehehe i loved the cat joke too!!!! hehehe jenna.

  • I find it truly admiring what you do, sir. You are a living proof of how we should find hapiness in the little things in life

  • Reply to Insultman - This coming from someone who has the fake farting preacher video as one of their vidoes. Yeah, obviously you're the intelligent one here...

  • You're a loser. Do people beat you up much at school?

  • Thanks for this. My Dad is always going on about the perspex - sounds like it was worth its weight in gold!

  • Salutes to you sir!

  • It's just beautiful.

  • I love that Pink Floyd poster on your wall in the background! Rock on, Peter! You've been an inspiration to me (an many others it seems) Your stories are very interesting.

  • Excellent. You are great to listen to. Please keep going. Ignore the silly boys that just ain't smart enough to enjoy it. We all love it.

  • Great stories geriatric1927! Thanks for sharing.

  • lol love the cat joke

  • i can't stand the music that this guy uses.

  • Enthralling story-telling. Thank you for sharing!

  • you are wonderful!

  • Good stories!!!

  • Geriatric1927, you are fantastic. I love your stories. Please forgive Swoopdog everyone. He's a baby soul and if he's careful and lucky he'll get to get old too. Keep the stories coming.

  • This is kind of difficult because you don't matter enough to post a reply but maybe in this case someone should. I''ll do it. You have just gone down in history as the all time biggest ass ever to walk on earth. Oh, about the dog. When Pete decribed what he and Bessie were feeling when he piked Bessie up after the bombing...Well I could feel it too. Tell us about your life Swoopoop. Is mastabatory it?

  • Wow, what an arrogant moron. You talk about 'mastabatory', but it certainly looks like you've jerked your own ego a few times too many. 'Like any of this would interest anyone' - you say it, and yet you do seem to have noticed that people are showing their appreciation. So well done on that one.

  • still going strong Peter. Carry on!

  • Love your stories Peter! <3

  • Love always, Peter!

  • You know cordrip, your day is coming also. Maybe we should start a dead pool in you.

  • My Mum has an empty bomb shell case she found during the war. She has been using it as door stop for years.

    .

  • I've worked my way through the "Telling it All"s. Thank you for sharing your memories. It was interesting to hear the English side from someone who lived through it. Thanks!

  • Hey sweet, I see that you have a new directors account. Awesome vid!

  • Never stop playing with childish things! it keeps you young :)

  • Another good vid!

  • what good ar' ya! :P wooo i recognise the accent in that :D.

  • Isn't it sad that even today children around the world are still being maimed by munitions left over from our eagerness to kill other humans

  • Nice vid

  • You win sir, you win!

  • Your stories are not unfamiliar, as my mother was born in 1930, and my father in 1923. However, your version of the WW2 events vary due to their geographical nature, as my mother was an evacuee from Oldham at 14, but my father was born and lived in North Wales where a considerable number of children from the English cities were sent. My father was conscripted and spent a majority of his time in India.

  • wonderful story as always

  • I like the blooper! Haha. ;)

  • and on occasion, their direct attack on the city of Budapest and the Hungarian flak action against them. He said, he wittnessed when one of them got shot and smoked unbelievably and it took quite a long time to fall down from the sky from the 25 000 ft it flew.

  • Remember Peter, whatever you experienced was experienced in the continent in the 'enemy' countries too, even more. My old friend, who was about your age, watched from the relative safety of the Buda hills the waves of B 24 Liberators from occupied Sicilian airfields, on the way to Austria/ Southern Germany

  • good video :)

  • Great video Peter. When my son was 15 you should have seen what he got up to! Keep up the good work

  • dude you are da coolest person i found here yet, blunty has just been made number 2 grins, you got the top spot gramps

  • that was great, sure hope your doing good and hope to see more of you....thanks so much...your friend heidi

  • you must be a wise man.

    keep it up!

  • good job peter

  • Jealous much?

  • Did anyone else notice that Peter is dressed up? (Sweater and a TIE) If you did it just for us, wow! (You look very handsome!) Secondly, amazing that more of you weren't hurt playing with the bombs/airplanes. Funny how life is supposedly "fragile" yet we do stupid things and don't die! LOL ~Rose

  • lol cartoon cat vid?^^ anyway - great story again.

  • Great Vid Peter Your voice is very soothing....

  • peter is the shit!

  • Boys will be boys. I think most people can look back at the dumb things they once did, and survived. Thanks for the story, Cheers.

  • Lovely, lovely, lovely.

  • Nasty people have always been a way of life. Some are more to be pitied than censored.

I find you most delightful and you are what I rush to my computer to see. What a dear one you are in my heart. I like the tie and sweater today. I was dressed in my Sunday best...too bad you couldn't see! ha xxoxox times a thousand!

  • Another wonderful video full of insight from a wonderful man. I love you and your stories grandpa! You're the best! Take care! Looking forward to your next video!

  • yep i agree

  • I always try and listen to your stories just before I go to bed. You voice is so relaxing, almost hipnotic. Please keep the video's coming kind sir. Take care - Paul

Even after 60 years, he's still entertainin'

  • great video, good comedy at the end

  • Legend.

  • Thank you, Peter.

Have you ever seen a public official act so shamelessly in all of your life? It would be like if someone were asked about Pearl Harbor and they refused to discuss it because it might make 'embolden the Nipponese war effort'

  • Your shows always give me great pleasure, Peter.

    "cat"

  • that video was great, i love your stories

  • hi, chuck here. i noticed you used the term "miles" in stead of "kilometers" doesn't England use the metric system? are the two terms used interchangeably?? thx

  • in england we use miles, never kilometer, we switched from the metric system quite a few years ago.

  • England uses 'miles'. We use a mixture. Metric, yards, miles etc. We got stuck during the changeover to metric and decided we couldn't entirely abandon the old system. Shops are not allowed to sell goods by the pound (lb) though and have to use kilos. It is a little confusing.

  • the system of miles lbs and inches comes from the old british imperial system, which is how it got to america, since we joined the european union they have tried to change us over but langage doesn't change because people tell it to

  • Bring the cat back!

  • great video sir peter

  • Peter has not been knighted and has done nothing to deserve it - as much as I like his work on YouTube.

  • Dear Peter

even i am a couple years younger, amy of ur telling made my memories of the time 1949-52 back, when we disvovered the battlefield near our city of Gelnhausen, where Waffen-SS tried to stop the US-Army and left lots of stuff in their bunkers atop the hill of our town, and there also a schoolmate got blasted of his left hand from exploding ammunitions

its so curious, that i had forgotten so much of my youthtimes and u glady bring back so much

    tnx a lot

    sincerly Peter

  • great video

  • check out my family slide show . radiochic

  • Sadly the young never do as they are told. Everything has to be experienced. Keep on going Peter. I look forward to your next installment.

  • I just saw on the news that Google is trying to buy YouTube for about a billion and a half dollars! As one of the people who helped bring YouTube to worldwide attention, do you have an opinion on its prospective commercialization? In any case, I'm glad that you have a web site as a backup. Your videos are treasures!

  • they are? I hope they do, I love google

  • I diddled myself while watching this video.

  • Wise words from a wise man!

  • So the Wellington Bomber was still more aless intact? Was the Machine Guns in place?

  • Love your videos as always. It's great to hear old-time war stories from England. Or just any stories you say! They're all quite interesting and I'm extremely grateful you decided to tell them to us. And I liked the comedy clip at the end -- if I closed my eyes I could imagine I was back in time listening to it! You're awesome :) *hugs* Stay safe.

  • You were a hottie when you were a teen... opps... did I say that? ma'bad

  • still love these videos, if your ever feeling angry, or annoyed.

  • The intro is incredible.

  • brilliant

  • You are awesome! I love ur stories!

  • lol hahah yea for sure YOU SUCK OLD MANSKEET!!!

  • i'd say rather that you need the shrink, and terribly in need of such too-simonsez69

  • Great story Peter, as always. Amazing planes the Lancaster, the flying fortress. My uncle was a navigator on them. But he's never talked about the war. I think the airlift of food and med supplies to the liberated Belsen camp affected him a great deal.

  • Thanks :)

  • Cool, Pink Floyd: The Wall is on the wall!

  • and the ceiling is on the ceiling P- <:+)

  • I adore your stories! Keep 'em coming!

  • Good morning!
