his intonation does sound "good." he is a very talented player. i think in another year or two he will be a phenomenal player. one thing that is holding him back now is his intonation is just good, not perfectly in tune. he is 99% of the way there. they say that last 1% is the hardest, and i look forward to all his future videos where he slowly gains that last 1%.

sounds good....but way more distortion than dt would ever use. try a clean tone....it's good for technique..

actually derek trucks uses a super reverb cranked to about 8, and recently started using a PRS stack that he also cranks to about 8 or 9, so he does use quite a bit of distortion... especially as his solos build with intensity

yea the epiphone is completely stock- also a ts9 is short hand for an ibanez tube screamer overdrive pedal

thanks for the kind words- I use a spider III amp through a ts9 for slide work to give it a little better low- end punch. I'm thinking about upgrading to some type of fender, preferrably a hot rod deluxe or something like it. Any suggestions? (ps check out my other slide vids and also new ones that I will post soon)
