I remember watching this when it happened. I always though that because Gino had a hard and pretty acurate shot but wasen't the greatest skater in the world he could have been a 20+ goal guy if he skated better given the fact a lot of the goals he did score were pretty looking
Man why do people come on here nd say shit about gino or any1 else don't u know that it hurts his kids and family maybe if u knew gino poele wouldn't say shit like that he is an amezing person who goes and talks to kids and does whatever he can to help people
I'll take your word for it, but I figure him learning to do cross-overs would be an improvement. Gotta love Gino though. It's a shame he got rid of that classic CCM bucket.
Yup,that helmet was classic. I think before the 94 season he spent time practicing with his good buddy Pavel (Bure) working out in California where Gino improved on his game a lot. Quinn then proceeded to put him on a line with Bure where he scored 16 goals that year. I thought it was a shame that he was scartched for half of their playoff run that year, especially considering that that was his career year.
I remember watching this when it happened on CBC. 5-2 Canucks. Funny thing about Cuthbert mentioning that Odjick could run for election, but I read the date of this game was October 19, 1991. I still remember going to the game before this on October 17 where they tied Boston 3-3 (Boston scored after the buzzer in OT, they reviewed it and it didn't count.), and that fell on the same night as the BC Provincial Election, which Mike Harcourt and the NDP won.

He honestly looks like a houseleaguer skating. Mike Vernon is lucky he still had a career after this.
gun4hire 3 years ago
Gotta give Gino credit though, his skating improved TREMENDOUSLY throughout his career. Just look at his breakaway goal against Philly as proof.
