Thank you for sharing the knowledge and ideas. You guys are inspiration to myself and other people in my crew. People keep saying that creativity is dead or that its impossible to come up with new moves. You guys are proving them wrong.
So when you do your freestyles you still freestyle and use up your foundation, just instead of using 6-steps and cc's you use the moves that Rexx and Zeshen demonstrated. Everything still is done spontaneously and without any premade sets or combos, except that you use a different moveset.
@Senlau, this is still foundation, but different foundation from the one you get taught, instead of 6-steps you just make up your moves (as was shown, copying ideas from other dances and flipping them). This even spices up your vocabulary so that you don't have the generic 6-step, 3-step, cc, etc. foundation like everyone else and makes you different.
After you have changed it and you are done, you put it in your freestyle which can be foundations and flavor. So basically Its like balancing it. So I think I understand in how you do and I have also seen people do it´but Im kinda dissapointed..
I see bboyin like, only freestyle, I let you guys imagine one thing and try to think of it like I do. Lets say you do only freestyle, how would you handle that? Im talking about dancing without thoughts every time, would people see you in the same way?
@Seunlau What up. I'm confused as to what you mean or trying to get at. Maybe we define freestyle differently. We don't run sets. To me "Freestyle" does not mean "Free of style". It is a balance. A balance of natural instinct and control. As Bruce Lee said, one extreme you are really unscientific and the other extreme you are a mechanical man. You are also assuming a lot from this example vid. Trust me, I do dance without a thought in mind, but not without a foundation to back it up.
@Seunlau The moves we design in practice serve as the basis upon which we play and manipulate with with our feeling during dance. A solid base and foundation is what makes a dancer a better freestyler. It allows you to not need to think and freestyle but also execute an original, technical style, because its embedded in you.
@zeshenone tbh i was one of those people who always wanted to know how you come up with those moves you do lol, and now i saw this video and how you do it its like placing pieces of the puzzle together. im gonna try it out myself since i do salsa sometimes in my toprock, maybe transition that into footwork
sup, I get what you are saying and Its cool. Im also very into the base, foundations and one of the people who teach me how important it was to have a clean and controlled foundation was you.
I totally agree with what you are saying and sorry if my writing is a bit hard to understand.
To be more clear, my definition of bboyin is like; Lets assume that someone have really good foundation to start with. From that and on, lets say that this person mix foundations into his footwork but he never does the same "move" or "footwork".
So lets say he goes after his feelings and all that while he dances, but he never keeps it in mind so he can do it again. You get me? Like when you do some footwork and then forget it, not keep it and repeat it. Like a surprise
this was like the big answer for the big question, now I realise how you guys are thinking, well a part of it.
Honestly, Ive realised that most of this stuff you guys do are not really freestyle. Its more like the way you guys explained it in this video. So Ive come to a conclusion, you guys are basically freestyling, BUT not really.
They way you do it is that you think of a move, change it like zeshens good examples on the house dancing.
Dude that's so sick.

Its kinda hard to try and explain but I really respect what you guys do, and I hope someday I can show what I mean and not only write it.
PS what I men with "but he never does the same "move" or "footwork" was about those kind of stuff you guys show us in your video and not foundations.
I realise that my deffinition of freestyle is not really that great but thats how I see.
