When you opened the door to the crew rest area I thought it was a lavatory at first so I wasn't paying close attention... Then you backed out for a second and I thought... what the hell did I just see??? Then you went down the stairs... WOW I thought that kind of thing was only in the movies!!! Thanks for sharing that with us! But my next question is, how often does that get used? And how often does it get taken advantage of? I'm sure there is a strict policy, but such a cozy space!
@m1r3o it still beats all american carriers. And for that matter, there is a product designed for Passengers like yourself : Its called Business or First Class.
@omaalto hi, it is a special lock that requires keys.in the beginning (when we got the a343), there were just simple toilett door locks, and i had to get some chinese passengers out there once :)
@dnhug maybe not, if they particularly are chinese or spanish passengers. and zealous airplane-enthusiast! in the certain short A343 (crew rest entrance in same position than swiss) flight, i saw when few sleepy women stalked that there is no one flight attendant in sight. then one of them lifted the sign, slided the knob into "open position" and they went immediately downstairs. flight was only 6 hours long, so no one member of cabin crew knew it. maybe they had luck when they came out. :)
Do you have recorded this onboard a Swiss Airbus A340?? The entryway to the crew-rest area looks very, very narrow. Thanks for sharis this really uncommon passenger,s view of sight. Hopefully you,ve not trouble with the Crew regarding going downstairs.
@wizzair1313 thats true my friend :) And i can sit in the cockpit if i want to :) just the other day i flew first to bombay, ah man, the way to travell :)
you can tell me about it :)
il have a vid of the new first class properly inspected, stay tuned!!

:o) this is identical to the crew rest areas on the aircraft I work. We have another at the aft section as well as just behind business (in the centre) Really good vid!
Rent out a certain amount of crew rest beds during times that they are not in use! for ppl in economy on a crowded flight, one may be willing to pay a premium for a good, short, quiet rest in a calm/quiet area!
No honestly mate, we ( I !! ) need some precious time away from passengers. On my own. Its a great place to go to and NOT having paying passengers around you..! Dont take that away from us aswell LOL!
If ya all want more space, theres just what you want a few classes further up , cheers
Look forward to the new first class and business class, completely new stuff, walkthrough in the brand new a330-300, seats and galleys, everything coming very soon on my channel.

dnhug 1 year ago
@dnhug well im sorry, as ive seen on the vid, there is no screen. unless it is in the armrest. if yes im sorry,
emirates airlines has won way more awards for the best IFE
check out my vid on my channel about emirates
Felipe140396 1 year ago
@Felipe140396
Ah, i see.
In the old first class, the IFE Screen was in the armrest. In the new first class, its right infront of the passenger, and its friggin huge mate.
In Economy, the IFE Screen is in the headrest of every passenger seat, and everybody gets one. Except the crew in the bunks :)
I did check out your vids indeed, and yes, emirates has had a better standart on IFE. But we will see what the pax think of our new stuff first :)

Y-Class is Economy Class.
The Bunk is for crew use only and requires a key.
8 beds for crewmembers on duty.

how many bunks total?
bryanb16th 3 years ago
hy , there are 8 "beds".
1 for the purser, two for c-class, two for y-class,two for first class.
one usually stays empty--> minium crew complement as always..

dnhug 2 years ago
What do you mean by "pay for it"? The FAs have to pay to get promoted into First Class FA?
thibaulthalpern 2 years ago
yes. there is one specific course (eidg. Berufsprüfung BIGA) that the F/a's have to pay for to get into the course. Its required from swiss. Maybe swiss pays something towards the costs of the BIGA, but its still a expense swiss wants us to take in order to work in first class.
dnhug 2 years ago
What course is that? Sorry, I don't read Swiss German.
And isn't it a bit strange that employees need to pay? Is there disgruntlement within Swiss F/As about this or perhaps it is not an issue for them?
thibaulthalpern 2 years ago
The course is a federal Test that officially tests Flight Attendants. Its required from swiss and our union if you wanna work in first class, or wanna be a "maitre de cabine/purser" . Its called BIGA (here in switzerland).
That employees need to pay for the test isnt a issue at all. Well i need to add that our union (kapers) who is taking care of the cabin crew of swiss - their a useless bunch in my opinion. So the paying thingie wont change, as much as other things wont.
