@tandori95 I believe that she can do whatever she wants with her animal. Female hamsters eat their young when theyre stressed, and their sense of smell is exceedingly good, simply holding the hamster like this isnt enough to rub her smell off the young one. Youre clearly a child using that language, and also of minority and born in 1995. The world will like you alot more if you dont go calling people names.

@stephenpprice When hamster babies are born, known as pups, they have no scent and the mother recognizes it as her own because of her instincts. If you touch it, they will smell like something else and she will not recognize it as her offspring, but rather as something that's not supposed to be there, or she might mistake it as another female's pup.

And yes, people should be able to so what they want with their animals - its their animals. If theyre abusing their animals than it should be taken off them. But while theyre not, why do we have to have people nagging them constantly?

@tandori95 The baby hamster is 14 days old as the owner stated, You can not touch them untill then. Here is 2 quotes from my vet course work in uni:

Do not disturb the nest for first couple of weeks, female may kill the babies

Babies wiill emerge from the nest and eat very small pieces of solid feed at 2 weeks of age

the owner did state the hamster baby was 2 weeks old thus it is ok for her to touch it :) the baby will not be in any danger unless she drops it of course.

My friends mom said she had hamsters when she was little and they told her they were both girls but they weren't and so they had babies and then the mom was scared that the male was going to kill them because thats what they do so she ripped their heads off and ate all their heads and when she went in there all she saw was their bodies and some heads. and she was only like 10.. im not lying about this. i dont mean so sound gross but it is true.. sorry.
