cda own. i find it hard to appreciate a band and say im a real fan if im not willing to buy the album and hear the songs the way they are supposed to be heard.
i get why other people like itunes, its just not for me.
buying cd is in the past. why should anyone spend $20 for a CD when only two or three tracks are worth to buy. isn't supporting the artis by buying from their website or service like iTunes is better? By pass the middle fat Cat (RIAA/music label) and give back the power to consumers and artist. buying records is so stupid and money wasting.
iTunes (for example) would not have the extensive selection like that of Cats, so yeah buying that one great song from the album off iTunes (because the rest of the album is filler) is still in some ways supporting that artist, but to me nothing beats going into your local cd store to get that one cd/vinyl you want and sheer excitement of ripping off the plastic and listening to it while looking at liner notes going "wow so thats what the albums about"
I go to my record store where I work, and my friend and I hang out and sometimes I pick up a guitar and play, just impromtu.. and it's cool... just to let it out. Thanks. ~S
No wonder the music industry is sinking. People don't even know the difference between a record store and a record label. Nobody is censoring your comment, no matter how dumb it may be.
I always buy CDs. I really appreciate what the artists do and its a great feeling to have the album, a physical piece of great work. I have Paramore's Riot album. Good stuff :D
By all means, purchase albums to support artists. Just steer clear of major record label releases.
They turn around and use the money to hit people with frivolous lawsuits over alleged music piracy. (The most recent victim was some homeless guy, without a roof over his head, let alone a computer.)

BUY MORE RECORDS!!! (and enjoy the music vids on my channel)
obamatime 3 years ago
Buy more records - just make sure it's the right kind of records you're purchasing.
Boycott the big four. They treat consumers like dirt - so why give them your money?
Lunarsight 3 years ago
Word, screw the big four, and iTunes. Support the small record companies so that all the great artists out there get the attention they deserve.
