• gorgeous song!!! thank you for posting

  • "there is a wander & wildness to life, and FREEDOM for those who obey". I have proven this sooo very true in my life. Obedience is the key to freedom from our worldly sins. Obey no matter what the circumstance may be... obey when we are weak, when we are strong, all the time. Thank God for giving us a gifted singer & composer like Michael Card!

  • Catholics first mistake is pride, "We are the original church following the traditions and teachings of Jesus Christ, passed down to us by the apostles."

Paul and the apostles started many churches but none of them stated they should focus on works to keep their faith alive. (Second mistake)

They also never said to pray to Mary, (Third mistake) if you're keeping count, which I obviously am.

These are all man made rules not found anywhere in the Word of God. I could go on but space prohibits it

  • No, Michael Card is alive... I am going to see him in concert this soming Saturaday night. Be careful before you post something like this.

  • One of my many favorite songs.

  • penwielder than how come he's still making albums huh?

  • @NeilAlwaysWins Neil, I was just trying to think of the last time that the devil told me anything that was true. The fact is that he's only ever told me lies. Maybe you should think about that.

  • There is always total joy in doing what is right. If you get used to doing right all the time, you know deep inside that it is right. God puts that inside of us. That is the witness of His love for us. Those who struggle with sin are the people that teeter on anti-christ. You must make that commitment to yourself first to do right and God will sup with you and all that you do. God never leaves you when you are in the learning state. Error brings wisdom and anchors the souls of God's people. Amen

  • Wonderful song! Michael Card has such a way with words! This is such a precious picture of both the struggles and the beauty of the Christian life.

  • @NeilAlwaysWin, and to everyone who is under the misconception (that I myself was under for MANY years) that Catholicism is a cult. Traditional masses are traced back to the earliest recorded worship that Jesus taught the disciples, it is how the Lord intended for us to worship. It is not a cult. And how can anyone judge another denomination that claims christianity (in regards to mormonism), even those who don't. God is left to judge us.

  • great song... and the devil is a sad defeated little lier lol

  • Does anyone know where I can find the lyrics?

  • Still a Great Message wrapped in this old song! Thank You Michael!

  • Michael is still faithfully serving our Lord. He is one of the two greatest influences on my early Christian walk. A wonderful, talented man who loves our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank God for his gifts that he so generously shares.

  • I was able to see Michael in concert a few months ago....what a huge blessing! If you ever can go please do! He has such great testimonies between the anointed songs he sings:)

  • Very inspiring !

  • WE can find our JOY and the FREEDOM while we're travelling from earth to the everlasting...

  • Love this song. Restore unto me the joy of your salvation Lord. Remembering the hopelessness of when I was lost.

  • great song!! praise God!

but sometimes i wish i could play every instrument like him :-)

  • I've loved this song for a long time. The first time I heard it in the 1990s I was overcome with the joy and light of the life of our Lord in my soul. Thank you Lord for your servant-singer, Michael Card, who has shared the beauty of words and song with us.

  • fine cellist...

  • Joy in the Journey

Longing for the city that is to come! (Heb 13:14)

  • .......and ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free..."Praise God that Christ is the way the truth and the light,.It is through Christ and only through we are truly set free!!!

    Amen :)

  • this song is great if we obey God we are free.

  • "Freedom for those who obey"! They cry of every heart; to be free. Only in Christ is true, and lasting freedom found.

Thank you Michael for this beautiful and encouraging song!

  • "...who belong to eternity, stranded in time..."

That describes how I often feel.

  • You're not alone : )

  • Why is it so difficult to obey when I know it right? Help me God to obey you!

  • Amen Lord. Hear the cry of Your servant.

  • Such pathos & depth *shakes head in wonder* Lord thank you.

  • many hours spent in meditation with all his stuff the life etc love this guy. thank you micheal

  • This is my favorite song of all time. Love it.

  • Michael Card's music has meant so much to me throughout the years beginning in 1986. The UMC Wesley Foundation sang "Gentle Healer" then and two years later at my 15 year old son's funeral. Later I discovered "Joy in the Journey" These are only two of my favorites. What a blessing his music has been to me. I, too, am glad he is using his talent in service for the Lord.

  • I was introduced to Michael's music back in college in '84 by a friend who new I was a fan of Dan Fogelberg. Michael stated on his first album "First Light," that he was inspired by the powerful music of Fogelberg. I became an instant fan of Michael's and saw him in concert in Utica, NY in the late 80's. This is one of his best songs.

  • I vote this the best Christian song (that got any airplay) ever written in the 20th century.

  • Buy this DVD, you won't regret it!

  • been a michael fan for the longest time like since I was a teen, part of my theological knowledge back then was based on the songs that michael has written. but I've since grown in the Lord, thanks michael for being there, the Lord is with you.

  • Prety instrumental work.

  • What a song, what a guy. And did you 'catch' that cello? I wish I had a voice like John Catching's floor fiddle.

  • Going to see Michael play this weekend!!

  • thanks for posting, love the cello too

  • He sings with passion in his voice.

  • great video. Please don't ever remove it!

  • Beautiful. He's a great performer too.

  • I like grew up on this man and he is a legend!

  • i saw michale at wheaton bible college in illinois when i was 14-15 yrs old wow 22 yrs ago.hes another keith green in my opinion.how the music comes alive with the truth of the word, and what were going through.how the spirit of god ministers through his music is refreshing

  • i love MC..i love his CD unveiled hope..

  • no, he did not

  • Heh heh, I know that now, apparantly I mixed him up with another artist...And only realized it after I posted here. Sorry Ok, going away and dieing of embaressment...

  • @penweilder: you must be speaking about Rich Mullins, who died in a car accident in 1997...he was also a wonderful songwriter and a worshipper

  • Yeah, it must have been him... I was only 7 at the time, so I probably mixed up the details!

  • @j3sfreak no, he didnt! He came to Sing for a live concert just in 2010!

  • @j3sfreak -- I think he is confusing Michael Card with Rich Mullins who did die in an auto accident.

  • you almost gave me a heart attack..lol

  • Sorry!

  • I just saw him in awesome concert in S.Lancaster, Mass in June 2008.

  • @penwielder I believe you are talking about Rich Mullins... Michael Card still travels and plays, I got my dad tickets to a show earlier this year.

  • @penwielder I think you may be think of Rich Mullins, who was also a man whom the beauty of his love for the Lord shone through in his music

  • @penwielder

no...no, Michael Card is alive and well and living outside of Nashville, teaching and writing and performing. I get his ministry updates every month.

  • @penwielder Where do you think you heard it?

  • @penwielder I know this is a little behind the time...considering your comment was left 2 yrs ago...but Michael Card is still living...maybe you're thinking of Rich Mullins? He died quite a few years ago...due to a very horrendous accident. Just in case you hadn't heard. :o)

  • @penwielder

michael card is very much alive, just thought you would want to know!

  • @penwielder No, Michael Card is still living.

  • @penwielder You're thinking of Rich Mullins. Michael Card is still very much alive.

  • @penwielder You need to check your facts. He is very much alive.

  • @penwielder if he did then he is still making music from the other side of the grave.

  • @penwielder You're thinking of Rich Mullens

  • If anyone wants the piano music to this song (note-for-note what MC plays), check out my website (see my profile). I've transcribed it in three different keys. These are my own transcriptions by ear.

  • A passionate love of Jesus resonates....

Michael thank you for being a messenger of Truth.

  • IF you ever get to see Michael Card in concert-GO! The man can also TALK from his heart to the audience!

What a gift this man is!

  • Michael Card Your a Blessing to us all!!

  • Praise the Lord! Thank you Lord God for Michael Card's wonderful inspiring songs!

  • The word Catholic means universal.

So that just means that they consider themselves part of the universal church. And who is the church but each of us who believe in Jesus as our Lord and who allow the Holy Spirit to conform our lives. I don't care where you go on Sunday as long as you believe and are being shaped by the Spirit you are my sibling and I pray God's blessing, guidance, and wisdom be with you

  • Beautiful song! Very meaningful :)

  • -Good video-! ♣

  • This song is true of me too. I thank God for every joy and for every sorrow in my life.

  • this song is so true of me. I thank God for every day I'm alive.

  • MY most favorite among other songs from Scribbling in the Sand)...Even though how rough & tough our Journey is..,we should not lose HOPE -<@

  • Oh how I love this. But I want the whole orchestra version from the CD! Please add it if you have it!

Thanks for loading all of these for our enjoyment.

  • Thanks for adding these great Michael Card videos. Love his songs!

  • the only bad thing about michael card is that he is very accepting of cults (mormonism and the catholic religion)

  • What do you mean? Catholicism is not a cult; it'a a denomination, like all the others.

  • @NeilAlwaysWins you're... kind of lame. I'm not even gonna bother.

  • @NeilAlwaysWins its not a cult its the antichrist system that the bible talks about, and every denomination that follows it is also apart of that system, im not saying everyone in those denominations are bad, but that doctrines are false and not biblical. i would advize you to look into the 2300 day prophecy in daniel, and read about the remnant church in revelation.

  • As j3sfreak sad, Catholic is a demomination, like Baptist, Luthern, ect.

I know many catholics and they're just as "Christian" as I am. I'm Baptist.

  • @pdiddles03 sure right about that!!...they've got tonns of doctrine that's not even what the apostles wrote in the bible

  • @pdiddles03 I have to agree with j3sfreak that Catholicism is not a cult. I've heard undesirable things about Mormonism, but not about Catholicism. My family happens to be Mennonite, which is about the farthest denomination from Catholicism, but my family has some Catholic friends.

  • @pdiddles03 Um, the Catholic Church is the furthest thing from a cult.

  • @pdiddles03 Cathlics are not a cult. We are the original church following the traditions and teachings of Jesus Christ, passed down to us by the apostles. Michael Card is a wise man for understanding My faith enough to know that we are not a cult but a church teaching the truth. If you wish to continue this conversation, or have any questions about the catholic faith, reply to my channel.

  • @oneofseven100

because crawling on your knees down a stone path to attain forgiveness is in the bible. Catholics are a work based religion in which you achieve salvation through what you do. Real followers of Jesus are saved by their faith in Jesus and that's all.

  • @pdiddles03 Catholics never promote crawling on your knee's to attain eternal life. read the bible a little more and you will realize that faith without works is DEAD. we are not simply a work based religion but a faith supported by works religion.

  • @pdiddles03 What is faith without works. Catholics are very focused on the works because they keep our faith alive. we don't crawl on our knees to attain salvation but because that person see's it as an opportunity to grow in faith

  • me too. Actually there was a time when all I listened to was Michal and keith green

  • Awesome song!! I love Michael Card's music..it is so meaningful
