  • Great video! Thanks!

  • chris wasnt born,

    he was hatched

  • Another post said Chris Costa gave birth to Chuck Norris ..I about fell outta my seat!! They need to send him to Iraq for 1 day to end the war. W.W.C.C.D. !!!

  • lmao at the shot show vid? I saw that too =]

  • I think the F2000 is someones own gun they brought to the class. wow, he has duel flash lights and a PEQ with a lazer and light.

  • Are they training with F2000s at 5:01?

Why would Magpul be using those in training instead of ARs?

  • its a tactical course the offer, people are welcome to run whatever, magpul suplies only the instructor

  • Very nice, I would love to take one of those classes.

  • Nice to see something other than AR15's (dude with the FN FS2000).

  • lol ur such a troll. nice try tho, you got a response. i fed you.

  • The mount that Chris uses is a LaRue LT-607

  • Anyone know what sort of dual tactical light mount Chris has on his rifle? looks good man.

  • Good job dude!

  • its a class to protect themselfs =), also people do it as a hobby.

  • Test 1 2 3

  • these guys know what their talking about.

  • Sweet F2000. No doubt. Were you able to perform the mag reload technique with a bullpop rifle?

  • yep stupid contextual humor

  • it was a joke and thats all it was

  • oh shit b00m

  • whats cris costa bio

  • if there's a weight limit restriction, then there should be an IQ restriction which u certainly wouldn't meet.

  • yeah too bad I have an iq of 120 last time i took the test so fuck you armchair commando

  • yah u speak like it. LOL

  • its the internet fuckface nobody but a stuck up asshole such as yourself cares about somebody using loosened grammar structure

  • i always see fuckin fat guys in these videos.

  • fat guys like guns too

  • Southern State? Tacticool gear? more than 10 weekend operators, there will be atleast one or two fat guys in the group.

  • hows the big guy in the back supposed to do all of this?

  • maybye he is part of meat sheild one, a special squad of meat sheilds

  • Big guys just carry more ammo :) I think.

  • He gets better with each exercise. Always keeping "eyes on" target.

Want to take a course. I believe Magpul will be in MI. Sept 2010

  • Hmm...

I took a tactical carbine operators course here in GA, taught by a former special forces operator. I'm interested in the differences of their ideas. Basically, the instructor told us that we should always assume empty, and if the chamber doesn't close or we know it's not empty, then cycle the bolt. Obviously, this takes place faster than explained...

I think both methods work though, definitely. There is no 'correct' method. There is incorrect, though, and that's ending up dead.

  • Don't short change the coasties. They're some of the most professional people you can imagine.

Especially the boarding crews. Extremely well trained and knowledgeable.

Imagine the confined spaces of a building, and having to train to fight or clear in one.

Ever been in a large boat?

  • I have been on a large boat - and when the Coasties searched me they missed a lot! Since I'm not a smuggler I was nice and showed them some spaces they didn't know were there. Despite their stated claim of searching "everywhere", they didn't seem to know what a bilge is.

  • No doubt looks like great fun regardless.

  • I wish that i could buy that gun!!

Please goverment allow us to own these guns..

    Please Finland please

  • KAC Sr16 with 11inch URX and 11 inch barrel, triple tap muzzle break.

Quite and expensive piece of hardware.

  • you can see the improvments of his shooting through out the training. faster and cleaner. good stuff.

  • Oh shit! Something happens.

  • what kind of holster did costa have for his secondary

  • bump

  • didnt he help develop the Magpul Masada?

  • yeah he was on future weapons I'm pretty sure

  • great teacher, dumb fat ass student.. he poses a big target for the enemy

  • damn this looks fun!

  • seriously.. that bullpup looks way too big and bulky to be more effective =/

Then again, maybe it's just cause my generation grew up oriented around that..

  • What you dont see is how light the FS2000 is compared to an M4. That FS2000 is less than 6lbs. Plus the overall length is the same as as a 10.5" AR15 but has 18.1" barrel. So you are getting velocity of 18" barrel but compactness of a shorty.

  • yea.... a few hours later.. i realized that it was an 18" barrel...

But for a bullpup design, I was thinking of urban combat where you don't need the range and power of an 18" barrel. But I guess for field use, that would be most ideal.

  • "Oh shit!" Epic quote

  • that bullup rifle looks hard to reload .)

  • wow, that's pretty awesome.

  • I would hate to play airsoft with him he would own really bad. Unless he was on my team

  • LOL Seriously! no joke!

  • "Oh shit!!!" LOL

  • sexy fn f2000

  • can any body just go to these classes

  • yeah. obviously. look at the tub o' shit 2nd from the left side of Costa. Guy couldn't hurry to save a case of twinkies.

  • THANK YOU!!!! In every tactical carbine class there is alwasys at least one fat body.I would love to take a class like this, but I am in no shape to keep up.I'd be too tired to learn anything. The weight is slowly coming off,but untill I reach my goal,I'm not even gonna think about taking a class like this,I'd just end up embarrsing myself.

  • Some classes are available to civys, but a lot are MIL/LEO only. For the civy classes, you probably just need the cash to pay for them

  • Yes, anyone,. Just pay.

Magpul trainin is some of the best around.

  • Billy May's brother

  • I think he looks more like Carlos from desperate housewife.

  • Comment removed

  • do you have to bring a weapon ? or they can give you a m4 or somthing

  • definitely bring a weapon

  • 6:20

He didn't check the chamber and spin the gun for mag-release and reload...

Why can't anybody ever listen on Chris! :D

  • chris is a class act and a world class trainer if you can take a class with him

  • lol the fat guy.

  • Nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • haha he sounds like billy mays

  • i cant believe some1 brought a FS2000 to a class like that.... although you can see @ later in the movie he switched to a AR lmao

  • Why is that? The FS2000 performed awesome. You get 18" barrel velocity out of a rifle that is shorter than a 10.5" AR15.For CQB & going around barriers was awesome. The only reason i switched it cause i did not have sling for it so i could not transition to my secondary if i used it exclusively.I just took it out for a few drills to see how it performed and it excelled my expectations.Much reduced felt recoil compared to my AR15 due to bulpup design. Only disadvantage to AR is slower mag changes.

  • How's the trigger on that FS2000?

Also, it seems bulky (size, not weight). Does that have any impact on peripheral awareness. ie: Do you find yourself moving the gun out of your sight path more often to "look around"?

  • Mr. Costa you are truly a badass operator.

  • Shit you wanna see a real badass check out Chris Costas boss, Travis Haley. Travis Haley is former MARSOC Force Recon. Chris Costa.... Coast Guard.

  • and you think that guy is bad ass...check out Richard Marcinko

  • whats wrong with the coast guard?

  • Nothing is "wrong" with the Coast Guard per se. Its just when it comes to somebody teaching me tactics with a weapon Id prefer somebody with some actual real world hands on experience. Costa did primarily law enforcement work. Travis Haley however was a Force Recon Marine, hes worked several PSD's, and he also worked for the now imfamous "Blackwater". Hes been deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan numerous times also. Google Blackwater Najaf Sniper to see Haley in action.

  • I'm in the Coast Guard, I trained at Blackwater and I was deployed to Iraq.

  • Im not trying to bash Chris Costa by the way he is an amazing operator in his own right. Just after watching both of them on their "Art of the Tactical Carbine" videos Ive come to prefer Travis Haleys tactics and rifle accessories. Then after seeing limited action of him in Najaf and reading about what he actually did I was even more impressed.

  • Chris Costa is a natural born bad ass!!! True professional!

  • 1:04 OH SHIT FUCKEN GET OUTTA BOOM! - Chris Costa Magpul Team

  • OH SHIT - Chris Costa

  • what Carbine was this 1 or 2?

  • what if its dark?

tap rack roll... these drills should be the same...day and night. Its hard to see if its empty, stove pipe, double feed ect at night or in a dimly lit building.... just an observation.

  • Another question. What kind of first line does Chris Costa have on in this video. I like the idea of those fast-draw belt mag pouches

  • Does anyone know why PMags jam less than regular STANAG mags? I'd really like to know.

  • internally, the curve is completely smooth, unlike a STANAG

  • Gen3 magpul followers, the polymer body and polymer follower self lubricate each other too.

PMAGs, one of the best AR15 products ever created

  • PMAGS followers are balanced on fours surfaces in the magazine housing which assists with the rounds being fed evenly into the chamber...

  • Ok, well Ive always loved rifles that fire the 7.62x51 nato rounds. M14, FN FAL, and now this new FN SCAR H. Im really interested in buying it. I am in the military, and although ive trained with the 5.56 round my whole life, I would just rather have the larger round. Because, well, heh idk i just love the bigger badass 7.62x51. Im thinkin of buying the scar h and saving it for the Zombie Apocalypse. LOL!

  • battlerifles are large caliber guns with magazine larger than 20 so a scar H is not a battlerifle since it has a 20 round mag

  • BB345, that's completely false, a battle rifle is determined by what caliber it uses, and nothing else

  • what laser set up is that on top of his rifle

  • AN PEQ-15

  • 1337

  • what sling does he use? is it a bungee type?

  • It's called the 'ASP' and is available on the Magpul website.

  • strong guys...rifle's 10 lbs at least..

  • fancy shooting.. lol

  • Would an FN Scar H be considered a tactical carbine?

  • Should be.

  • I dont but it might

  • No it is not, It is considered a Battle Rifle. Battle Rifles are higher caliber. (Scar H is a 7.62x51Nato). Although the Scar H short is only 7.9 lbs and has a 13in barrel. Which does make it a "Carbine". (The M4 Carbine is 14.5in)The heaver round would not make it very tactical. In a CQB environment you want something with more than 20 rounds and that Cartridge would essentially be over kill, since it has greater penetration thus not transferring the energy to the target and not killing them.

  • I think you mean assault rifle. Battle rifles were like the Garand. Battle rifles kind of went out with the M14. Or M1A, whatever you prefer.

  • A scar H isn't a Assault rifle. It's a Battle rifle because of the huge cartridge it fires. The Scar-H uses the same cartridge that's in the M14.

A Assault rifle uses smaller intermediate-size cartridges.

Where as a Battle rifle is used for Long range and power. Such as Springfield 30-06, Mosin Nagant 7.62x54r, German 7.92x57 OR 7.62x51 NATO.

Although it can be considered both because of the short barrel making it assault size. It's still a Battle Rifle.

  • BUST EM!!!!

  • I just realized he's sporting a goatee instead of his usual full beard.

  • what kind of rifle is Chris using ? any one know?

  • i think it is an knights armament

  • hahaha he would probably rock back and forth like a rocking chair going prone on that stomach lol

  • Magpul Dynamics is where its fuckin at!! Chris Costa is the man!

  • oh shit---boom!

  • Very good vid man! very informative. 5 STARS

  • 1:03 LOL

  • That F2000 is pretty cool

  • its cool but dam look how slow he reloads.. sucks to have a bull pup design while speed reloading hah.

ide bring a p90 tho.. since its 50 rounds :D

or ill just use my ar15

  • How much are these classes out of curiosity? Also i heard you get some magpul goodies at the end what are they?

  • There is one coming up soon last time I checked? It was 400 for 2 days, and you get 1500 rounds I think. You have to bring your rifle with no less then 5 mags (rifle has to be chambered in certain caliber) and your sidearm with at least 3 mags

  • Where do you go to find out Magpul Classes? I love what the Magpul is all about I have seen Frontsight but it just sounds more of a DisneyWorld rather than one on one training what I am seeing from Magpul!

  • What I mean Disney its just not serious and extra costly to attend a seminar and listen to a 4 to a dozen instructors who are more Sportsmen Marksmen than actual war veteran or Federal Law enforcement with years of expierence like the magpul instructors. Not saying they don't have the level instructors. There things that these combat experience instructors can teach you that you couldn't learn from an instructor who hasn't had that level of intensity, yet! Vital details!

  • Go to google and search magpul classes I think. Or "the art of the tactical carbine."

  • When they finish shooting, they always have a picnic.

  • Sorry I found out later in the video.

  • Tango Down or Knights Armament vertical grip on Costa's gun?

  • great vid man, excellent tactic drills and shooting.

    Thanks for putting it up

  • I"m not knocking the FN. Never shot it. I'm basing my insult on the footage 6:17 to 6:21. The reload sucks. It seems to me that you wanted to show off and bring a $2000 dollar gun. When an Ar platform would have been good enough. It's funny because you have an AR also. I guess you had just pulled the Fn out of the package, and didn't care about reload drills before the class. Because practice makes perfect, and I would have nothing to insult you about.

  • You are right. I have over 10 ARs, love em all but they are not the last word. FS2000 has advantages & disadvantages over the AR. On the negative, it doesn't have a drop free mag, it has to be pulled out while holding a release tab,the bolt doesnt stay open on the last shot so charging handle has to be racked. Reloads are slower compared to AR. However having 16" velocity out of a rifle that is size of a 10.5" AR, clean piston operation, adj gas op, ambi, and very mild recoil it excels in CQB.

  • I agree w/ all that, but, its not really a combat proven design yet.

Looks like it ran like a champ in the class. Drive it until it breaks, and then assess what needs tweaking.

If youre a civvie, then great, P/O or GI, then stick to a proven design.

Most departments would demand that an officer use an M4 type design any way.

  • First off you are a fucking loser. Just shut the fuck up. The FN is used by multiple armies, and special forces around the world.

  • Right, but not by American forces, which is what matters the most in terms of assesments of the system.

Like I said above, for a civvie its fine, but for an officer, then stay w/ a standardized system.

  • That fat bastard is the future of America, remember that!

No but seriously these are great videos!

  • Envy?

  • So is this course for like police officers or security guards? I mean this looks like the kind of training a soldier would but these guys don't seem like ex-forces. Who would most benefit from a course like this?

I like the emphasis on safety and all the range of shooting positions. But what is the actual aim of this course in terms of capability.

  • Anyone who takes this course would benifit from it. A hobby shooter, a person who owns a gun for home defense, Law enforcement, Military, whoever.

If you are motivated to learn and can afford to take these types of classes then I recommend doing so. It's one thing to own AR15 pattern weapons it's another thing to know how to run them effectively.

  • i like at 1:05......."oh shit, fucking get out, BOOM" thtwut it soundedlike he said anyway

  • That's what he said. Costa is hardcore.

  • I believe the class is like 500 bucks for a 3 day course. I also think they give you like 3000 rds of rifle and 300 handgun rds.

  • You got the price of the class right, but they don't provide you with ammo, lol. Do you know how much 3000 rounds of 5.56 costs? About $1200. Does that make sense now:)

  • Oh haha, i must have read wrong... Now I know, anyone know if i get that Magpul single point sling? I want one for my AR15 setup.

  • I don't know why you'd be running an AR15 setup if you don't know how expensive ammunition is. Are you sure it's not an airsoft gun? ;)

  • Like I said, I misread... and no I'm not usin an airsoft.

  • Don't worry, just jking.

  • Haha, all good... but I do want the magpul sling.

  • Yeah, I was gonna say that if he was right, I'd sign up for the class just to get the ammo deal!

  • Anyone know what sling the instructor is

    using?

  • I am pretty sure that it is a Magpul MS2 Sling.

  • how much does the magpul class cost and how many rounds do you need to bring?

  • at 2;13 i thought he shot

  • Fat PMC ftw!

  • the fat guy is gonna make the best pmc

  • Good luck with that.

  • I've a suspicion that the guy with the white t and grey pants may not be using a 5.56 or maybe even just hand loads cause the report from his gun isn't as sharp as the other rifles that can be heard. It makes more of a thud than the others do.

  • It's the civilian version of the FN2k, and shoots the 5.56. It might be a combination of the different muzzle break and barrel length, or different ammo make (if they're using different ammo), But it's 5.56

  • I was talking about that guys AR15 he uses slightly later in the vid, sorry should have been more specific. I'm pretty sure after listening to it a few more times hes using different loads to most of the others.

  • are all of those carbines .223?

  • should be

  • Most likely. That FS2000 is, so are the AR 15's. Unless someone's usin' an AK, lol.

  • He's like the Billy Mays of badass.

  • lmao

  • he has a very unique style of holding his gun? any reason why?

  • It looks like hes has his hand holding the side of the weapon with his index finger pointing along the weapon, this helps with reflex shots, point with the finger instead of aiming with the sites and fire.

  • he holds the grip, but he doesn't wrap his thumb around the vertical grip. he keeps it along the side of the foregrip. Also, he holds it more forward, which provides more muzzle control (which you want)

  • that FN 2000 doesnt look very practical

  • No it probably isn't. It would best be used as a target practice rifle. I mean seriously who needs the shell casings to eject at the FRONT of the rifle? The FN2000 also looks pretty heavy and hard to change mags.

  • it adresses two different dilemmas. first one being it's a bullpup so traditionally your casings would be ejected from a port at the rear of the gun, this is generally a safety concern for lefty's and the second being, it can be fired from outside a vehicle and have the brass ejected outward. for a driver this could help from having a floor full of brass when driving. hope that helps. most of the guns is polymer (its light) and yes the mags are sometimes a pain in the ass. deep mag well.

  • No matter how hard I try, I will never be as bad ass as Chris Costa.

  • *whispering* no one will *slowly walks away*...

  • Be wary, the fat guy is a "sleeper" :)

  • So that's why he survived Black Mesa and City 17, he's such an smart bastard.

  • ROFL

  • The truth is his MIT degree was a cover up but really he was a Navy Seal, then provided some VIP Protection then became a Mercenary, then he went to Black Mesa cause he needed some time to relax

  • Hahahahahaha Can't fuck with the One Free Man

  • Actually, NVM It was two Surefire E2D defenders.
