i,m curious as to what,ll happen to frieghtliners fleet of cl 86s,will their long term growth plans necessitate there continued use,in particular,on the soon to be,electried manchester - liverpool route.
as their is the spur which runs behind eccles station and runs onto the trafford pk industrial including t, pk container base.
mischief670- the power ratings are as follows - engine - ge616 weight - 129 tonnes max speed - 75 mph gross horsepower - 3,676 (2,750 kw) max tractive effort - 120,000 ibf (534 kn) fuel capacity - 6,000 litres brakes - dynamic electric and air axle configuration - co - co route avalability - 7 it,s also said that they can accelerate faster than 2x86s. all this information from the latest addtion of the magazine, - rail.
Warrington Bank Quay is one hell of a freight hub without a doubt! I've seen a Merseyrail RUS map which shows Warrington Central electrified at 25kv ac overhead from Edge Hill/Hunts Cross. This is on a DfT website, I'm sure. Is this real or are they hallucinating? Is it a proposal, I don't know?
Pretty much. As our rail system is so cramped, distances between signals are short. As a result, trains are shorter and more frequent. Thanks for watching!
