to all of you who hate kickassia and take it seriously all you have to do is just look at the premise, it is internet reviewers invading a small nation, how can anyone take that seriously
I LOVE THE MOVIE! I would put this on my top 10 films of 2010 if the other Oscar worthy films did not invade the list first. Honestly I laughed so much with this than alot of the stuff Hollywood churned out that is called comedy of 2010 with the exception of Community which gives Kickassia a run for its money:)
This film has it where it counts: the heart. Nostalgia Critic's over-the-top performance, Cinema Snob's dramatic scenes, and the cameos from Board James (avgn), Chester A. Bum, and Santa Christ make it worthwhile and memorable. No, it is certainly not up to par with Hollywood standards, but it is very fun to watch. I have to say though, I figure the AVGN movie will probably have much better editing, and effects, but I hope it shares the feel that this movie gave me.

I thought it was funny, but it wasn't the greatest thing to grace the internet. That's the problem with movies, they need hype to be recognised, but not too much because otherwise people raise their expectations waaaaay too high, higher than Godzilla on stilts, and that's pretty damn high.
I thought it was a lot of fun, and they all did really well.

I wasn't all that suprised when he mentioned the movie making a sort of "political statement" when I first watched it I kinda thought it brought on some resemblance to the novel "Animal Farm."
If Kickassia and all of Nostalgia Critics fight scenes didn't always use the same punching sound effect it'd be so much more awesome, but every time I heard that punch effect it completely distracts me from whats going on to think 'why the hell won' he get a new sound effect'
I don't know, I really didn't like Kickassia, I found the jokes to be way to predictable and too many of the jokes were just memes from various reviews.

I think the main issue with the film is that Doug is a relatively inexperienced filmmaker. He can do short films and reviews well, but full length movies are a different kind of beast(I still liked Kickassia, but I had difficulty articulating what I liked and disliked about it. Comedies are hard to review...)

Scary Movie and part 2 were actually pretty good. One of the selling points was that the Wayans Brothers wrote the script. They are not involved in any of the current parody movies which makes films like Epic Movie terrible in comparison.

Good review. Only one thing. About the Nostalgia Critic's over-the-top acting? To me, I think that's how it was planned. The villains usually are the hammiest.
Also, the composer of the Kickassia main theme was Michael "Skitch" Schiciano.
Loved Kickassia and your review just a quick note though spoony mentioned that Handsome tom twisted his ankle pretty badly on the first day of shooting so he couldn't do much afterwards though they could have given him more lines.

@tiggerpete I think I liked it due to the main guy. He does a near perfect Gerard Butler imitation. I also loved the narrator, who sounds like the narrator from "300". I mean, It's a bad movie, but a guilty pleasure. The only spoof I hated was "Disaster Movie", although I was lukewarm on Superhero Movie, Comebacks and that Transylmania movie nobody watched.

That Sarah Palin impersonation was the worst fucking part of the entire thing. If anything disqualifies your opinion, it's not epic movie, it's not hating her painful subplot.
I must add that what they did with the NChick was the only thing I really had problems with. I was rather disappointed by the writing in the last two parts, but that's basically it. Funny all the way through.
I wish you would've maybe broken it up into 2 parts and analyzed each character more in depth. I agreed with each, but it like they could've all been elaborated on a little more.

I agree that this was a fun film to watch. Considering it was shot in only 3 or 4 days, I think they did a great job. The highlights for me were definitely Cinema Snob's great acting, and Spoony's scenery chewing and Dr. Insano bits.
the glaring was due to time constraints. the filming was done in 4 days, so can you blame them for that? blame mother nature for ruining the epic. this fact was revealed in spoony`s commentary on his site.

Personally I thought he was acting within character as he's naturally over the top, paticulary when hes enraged or excited. Other then that, I like the review alot ^^ a little more indept detail woulda been preffered but it satisfies

Good review. Only one thing. About the Nostalgia Critic's over-the-top acting? To me, I think that's how it was planned. The villains usually are the hammiest.
Also, the composer of the Kickassia main theme was Michael "Skitch" Schiciano.

Loved Kickassia and your review just a quick note though spoony mentioned that Handsome tom twisted his ankle pretty badly on the first day of shooting so he couldn't do much afterwards though they could have given him more lines.

really? Epic Movie? the one movie that I consider the worst I have ever paid to see in the theater? oh well, I guess some things are subjective, but really? anyway, good review, I loved Kickassia, and am trying to watch all of the associated v-logs by the participating reviewers, but yeah, Handsome Tom and 8-Bit Micky are a little tacked on and underused. here's hoping you do an in-depth review of the Brawl from last year.

@tiggerpete I think I liked it due to the main guy. He does a near perfect Gerard Butler imitation. I also loved the narrator, who sounds like the narrator from "300". I mean, It's a bad movie, but a guilty pleasure. The only spoof I hated was "Disaster Movie", although I was lukewarm on Superhero Movie, Comebacks and that Transylmania movie nobody watched.

Epic Movie isn't as funny as MTS, but it still has its moments(although I hate it when spoof movies go into music video mode).

I wish you would've maybe broken it up into 2 parts and analyzed each character more in depth. I agreed with each, but it like they could've all been elaborated on a little more.

Too bad Handsome Tom says only 1 line during the whole movie..... he's great, I loved him when he was working for screwattack. He just looks bored in Kickassia.

I agree that this was a fun film to watch. Considering it was shot in only 3 or 4 days, I think they did a great job. The highlights for me were definitely Cinema Snob's great acting, and Spoony's scenery chewing and Dr. Insano bits.

the glaring was due to time constraints. the filming was done in 4 days, so can you blame them for that? blame mother nature for ruining the epic. this fact was revealed in spoony`s commentary on his site.
