Its sped up because it comes across better on stage that way. The slow version would make an audience start snoring if a dance were set to it in my opinion. And "the boy" now on dance scholarship at NYU does do a triple/plea/single twice. Not a very uncommon transition out of a triple piro. I don't really consider it a "turn combo" We avoided that in this dance. But I suppose everyone's a critic and entitled to their opinion. Peace :)
