Channel 11, 11pm every weeknight followed by reruns of the Odd Couple. Unless youtube pulls it I am uploading the Classic 39. Because I have an unlimited account (for length of video), I'm uploading them in some 2 hour blocks. If they soon disappear it's because they were snagged by youtube. Search: Honeymooners Classic 39 Part 1
as a kid i rmember right after the honeymooners I think startrek would come on at mid night and I would lookout my bedroom window to see the empire state building lights go out at the top floors. eh silly kid memories!
@redsuxh8r Wow, I remember that too now!! That the Empire State Building lights would go off at midnight. I think the Honeymooners were on at 11:30 for a long time on wpix, so as soon as the show would end the Epire State Building's lights would go out. Good memory!!
That is so cool... Takes me back to being a kid, staying up late at my grandparents' and watching the Honeymooners rerun... That damn "V" from Viacom always scared me a little!
Used to watch Yankee games on WPIX with my Dad til he passed on in 1978. Then Honeymooners would come on afterward. My dad was a little bit like Gleason too. 32 years later and I still pine for those good old days. Hearing this melancholy version definitely makes me feel moreso. It is to weep, but I thank you for posting this...
As a kid the honeymooners came on at like 3am and if I fell asleep with the TV on and woke up in the middle of the night, the face in the moon used to freak me out!
I used to watch this on WPIX. I think it came on after the Twilight Zone. When I was a kid I would stay up late to see it, since it came on at like 11"00 or 11:30. Great tv.
the still give it on sunday nights 1 am on channel 11 in new york and new jersey , since i was like 10 years old i always watch it , im now 26 years old and i problably seen every episoded but i still watch it , also every new years eve they give a marathon of the honeymooners i love it
I was born in 1980 and I do believe that Threes Company was on at 11pm then The Odd Couple at 11 30pm then the Honeymonners at 12am to 1am. After that it was Star Trek then Twilight Zone and if I remember correctly Alfred Hitcock was on was the last show on before the station went off air.
Honeymooners used to always air at 11:30 during the 80's. I remember staying up as a kid to see it and I could barely make it to that late at night. I just caught an episode last night still on PIX chan 11..but now at 1am
I am a Brit who lived in NY in 1987. Every night I used to watch The Odd Couple, Honeymooners and then the original Star Trek. The guy who used to say "This is Channel 11 WPIX New York" had such a sexy voice. He also used to say "Channel 11, you'll never be over the Hill (Hill Street Blues). Aaah, happy days!! Also there was a commercial for NY Telephone with a young guy roller skating down the street -- it was sooo cool! NY I love you!
do I?! in Junior High ('82?), I sent in a postcard to WPIX to try to win a chance to play the game. alas, I was never called. I liked the basketball version. thems was the days!
YES... WHAT A TIME IT WAS TO BE A KID BACK THEN!! Can anyone remember the names of the WPIX Anchor team at 10 'oclock? Their was an older guy and a blonde. I believe they were married. My older sibs might remember.
WOW! All you guys are awesome remembering the line up! I was born in '86 so coming up in the 90's I remember the line up being "WPIX NEWS AT 10" then Cheers at 11, then Murphy Brown at 11:30, then coach at 12, and then honeymooners at 12:30...then it alternated.
Lots of fond memories here. But for me it was WPIX in the late 70s and early 80s when it was Odd Couple for 7-8 then again from 11-1200 followed by the Honeymooners, the original Star Trek and then the Twilight Zone usually on after a Yankees game...oh the great family memories of all of us laughing ourselves silly to jokes that we all knew by heart.
wow, that brings back memories. The early 90's channel 11 had a late-night lineup of Cheers, The Honeymooners, the Odd Couple, Twilight Zone and the original Star Trek. I spent many a late night watching.
I grew up watching WPIX and I miss it. I am glad that they at least bought back the classic call letters. I would like to thank whoever it was that had that great idea. I think if they started to air some of the shows they had in the 70's they would gain a new audience of youngsters.

Was that Casey Kasem's voice I've heard, or no?
ShaDeed329 4 years ago
Not Casey Kasem but I could hear a slight resemblence. That is in fact Doug Paul doing the voiceover. He had been "the voice" of WPIX for many years.

Seriously, my mom asked me that very question and told me that Regis's dad was a producer so it's possible.
